Just wondering if you cut a coil from the s-tech springs. Would it make the ride bouncier or would it still feel stiff with TOKICO shocks?

Cutting springs?

Go back to 1992 if that's the way you want to do things. :duh:

Let me answer the actual question with some basic math/physics and let you make your own decision, that way people will stop insulting you and you can say you’ve learned why doing things the correct way from the beginning is so awesome.

A spring follows the basic linear relationship governed by the equation of Hooke’s Law:

F = -kx where k is the spring constant or spring rate (particular to every spring) and x is the the natural length or free length of the spring.

When you alter the length of the spring (x) with an applied force (F), the spring pushes back with an opposing force at a certain spring rate (k). What does this mean to you? Your car has a weight and is supported at each corner by what other than a spring/damper combo. As you travel and your suspension articulates, you are compressing the spring and the “bounciness” you are asking about is controlled by the damper. If you cut the spring, let’s say in half (dividing “x” by two), you are effectively doubling the force (F) and amplifying the amount of bounce or oscillation that the damper usually would see and designed to handle taking much longer for the damper to settle the spring back to its natural length.

Bouncing would be even lousier with a progressive spring rate I would think.

You know why he didn't get "real" answers from anyone else?

This is why.

This topic has been beaten to death over the years. There are PLENTY of more threads out there explaining this over, and over, and over, and over again.

In fact, there is no need to pollute zilvia with yet another thread about this.
