Well my coupe I bought is one w/ a sunroof  and I was trying to score a 91+ w/ no power options (like my Daily is),....but I HATE sunroofs. This is also going to be somewhat of a Track car (road race) and plan to Ditch the weight up top.
Mine is the ol' elec Sunroof.
My plan is to dithc the glass and mech - try to drill out (spot welds) the center support "I - type shape" on Hardtop model (that runs pretty much Through where the "hole" is) hatch or coupe that i can find and reuse that on mine, once The Hole is welded shut.
Any ideas on best way to do so...or leave it to my Friend w/ SOME welding skills.I Want it to look somewhat Clean as it can and Structuraly sound...or otherwise I'd lay a Sheet of metal over it,sealer and rivet it down,DONE.
Thoughts?
car may have some kind of a half cage in the rear (not FULL) @ some point but not right away.would putting a cage in be good enough to keep the car together w/o the GLass roof or still try to weld, support the hole?

This is what i'm doing to my s14. =( my build thread should be in my sig
Position1 Racecraft S14 build - Northwest Nissans (http://www.northwestnissans.com/board/showthread.php?t=78303)
my car was sunroofless from the factory, first owner had an aftermarket sunroof installed, second owner of the car tried to plug it and just fucked the whole roof up.
so i have no choice but to replace it.
If you're putting a cage in your car then try to find a sunroofless coupe in a junkyard and chop it from the pillars. get rid of the factory bracing and your cage should be able to provide the structural support at that point.

ive been wanting to do this too. I talked to a friend. he said the best way is to take the roof of another coupe, cut it, reweld it on its pillars. Sounds like a lot of work.
If someone else has a easier way to fill up that stupid hole, please share!! I'd to know too =]

Well..looks like teh roof skin is only about $400 - the diff alone would prob be Huge in comparison to a Sunroof car - seems you could probably reuse maybe a front Brace or Rear.I was planning on Nabbing 73220 of another Hardtop car and Putting that in mine once the hole was welded up....or may have to go Sheetmetal riveted/sealed up.
I was tolding welding in it you'd need to do in sections around the hole - not in one Swoop around to prevent warping etc.I have a guy @ work that didn't think it would be too bad.As far as SUPER Gangster SHow FLushness it would not sufice...but for Purpose built - Maybe??

Welp..after talking to a Body guy here @ my Dealership about it...Turns out ALL you really need to do is Get a peice of Sheetmetal (16 gauge).
Remove headliner,...cut back approx 1/2" of the Inner roof (underneath Roof Skin) on the inside enough to lay a peice of metal UP from the inside - Sheetmetal Screws to hold in place - and you use a product called "FUSER" for Sticking Metak-to-metal,w/ no Rusting or Adhesion issues @ all.
CUt or Take out Screws once its hard/stuck - DONE.
___ALL from the inside instead of the Top___
Then Fill w/ Some bondo just to Flush it out.Nothing Major @ ALL.and Flexing will not be an issue w/ the little about of bondo used - ESPICALLY since theres prob more bracing up there BECAUSE of the Sunroof assy.
He had Performed that on a 1970 Camero that someon PUT a Sunroof in.
Said it works like a Charm.
Otherwise Cutting a Roof off another car would be his Next best bet instead of a Roof Skin for Ease.
