KA or SR ECU?

Hey guys, i just checked out my S14 SR20DET ECU and the RED numbers read

23710 69F00

My buddy just bought an s14 with an S14 SR in it, and it runs like SHIT! I didn't get the ECU #'s but i did read

WE.........And it was in RED. What engine/car does the WE come from?

wc and we are both s14sr20det ive had them both in my car at one point open it and see if it is chipped, then if not figure out what you have wrong with the wiring, timing, etc.

I'm pretty new myself with SR's, but i can tell you right from the start that the wiring is pretty messed up, and all mickey moused! It also looks like the KA wire harness, nothing like my SR harness. Is there a special way to check and see if the ECU is "chipped?" Thank you for all your help!
