So for the past couple weeks I have been tackling a wiring problem that led to my car sitting for about 2 months. Before I let my car sit, my car was boosting fine and perfect. This is on a SR20DET with a 2871r turbo and internal wastegate that comes with the turbo. The boost was set at 14 psi low boost and 18 psi high boost.
I have a HKS EVC V and never had problems with it either. So right now the turbo basically will not hold boost. I step on the gas and it boosts to 24-25 lbs and maybe even further if I let it. It doesn't hesitate at all where I set my boost levels. And the strange thing is that this problem rose right after I fixed my wiring problem and got my car running.
Here is what I have done so far to maybe eliminate some of the basic problems.
1) First, I have unhooked the wastegate line that runs to the boost controller solenoid and just hook it directly to the hotpipe nipple. Result is that it does the same thing.
2) I have unhooked the wastegate arm and checked if the wastegate flapper was swinging freely. It moves with no problem.
3) I have adjusted the wastegate arm so there is less preload on the flapper. Still does the same thing.
