im just wondering if anyone is using eagle connecting rods. they seem to be about the cheapest of aftermarket rods, but is it worth the extra couple hundred bucks to get rods like carillo(probably not spelt right, sorry) thanks for any input or opinions, matt

If you're rebuilding the motor for 350+ hp, then you should get rods. Also, at that power level, the margin of error is much less. I would not suggest skimping on any part of the rebuild. So far, the top 3 most powerful 240sx's are running crower or carrillos. I can't really comment on Eagle from experience... but my engine builder said "You get what you pay for" in reply to Eagle rods.
Hope I helped a little.

im not cheap by any means, but i wanted to make sure i would get what i paid for. brand names cost a lot, and sometimes they are not always worth the money. like people running around with nikes when walmart brand may be just as good, i just wanted to make sure i was paying for a good product and not just the name, thanks

Eagle rods are SICK! my friend just bought a set for his TT 300zx and the machine quality is 100% better than crowers. I couldn't believe it. Each rod is harmonically balanced and comes with a spec. sheet with everything you would and could ever know about a rod. Email me for prices on any rods you desire.

Uh huh. I'm not gonna delete that post (commercial), cuz it's stupid. All of that praise was to make a sale. I'm sure of it, because Eagle rods are not THAT highly desirable.

On a side note: Guy. If you try to make more sales on Zilvia, I or another Moderator will edit/delete your post as necessary. Please contact

If you can afford to have them custom made,(not shure if they'll do it and doesn't sound like you want to afford it)because they don't have KA or SR on their list, but for ne1 wanting the absolute best rods(IMO) Then I would recommend Bill Miller Rods... Why??? They make rods that can handle 6000hp!!! Most NHRA Top Fuel Teams use BME rods. Expensive but you get what you pay for!!!
Eagle Rods are pretty darn good though... A friend of mine owns a Turbo Honda(Yeah I know) With a B16/18(16Head/LS18Block) with a T04 and was making around 350hp at like 7 or 8 grand(rpm) using eagle rods and they worked perfectly. When he was building the motor he was originally going to use Crower but he had come to find out that Eagles are better.
Its your choice though s13rookie... I would reccomend BME rods but its your choice.
Good Luck

Really don't wanna come off as the "Eagle rods suck" Guy... cuz they don't. But there are better. Just because a rod comes with a dimensions and tolerance sheet doesn't mean anything, really. If you were gonna have your engine balanced, the machine shop would need to cut down the rods anyway, and same with blueprinting.
Anyway. I was just saying what my shop told me, "to get the best". Even stock rods are great rods up untill 350hp... mabey more. So any forged rod is gonna be good well past that. But Chris May (438hp) - Crower rods. PSI240sx (391hp+) - Carrillo(?) rods. Boosted (~400hp)- Crower rods. Duy (with the stupid-fast 240sx) was using one of those two, also. I just can't find the page that I read that on. And Duy was at 600+hp!

I am sorry for making a plug for the company i work for. I am not posting to make a sale, everything i said about the quality of the rods, i meant. They are excellent. I highly disagree abut the desirability of the rods. Everyone may desire crowers because everyone has them, but it doesn't mean the eagles aren't better. For example, the rods for the 300zx are rated to 850hp. I am not sure for the SR20 or KA24 but i bet it is close. I am just trying to inform people on something i know about. Again i am sorry.
I didn't know eagle made rods for the KA? I've seen a couple of 400hp turbo integra's running those rods w/o any problems. Bang for the buck is what I say.. I'm also certain that when Crower and Carillo were fairly new in the rod game that their prices were alot cheaper than they are now.

im currently in the same dilema, EAGLE OR CROWER? well i can tell you eagle does offer a set of rods for the sr20 motor, available thru my buddy wayne at www.phase2motortrend.com there pretty nice rods, a little lighter than crowers, but the strength is very close. Im goin to try the eagles first on my race motor and then see what happens, then i might try crowers next year. WHAT ABOUT PISTONS
ARIAS...what!
