You might want to run a registry scan. You probably have a corrupted registry entry in your system.

Have you installed anything recently, prior to when it started happening?

could also be overheating if its dirty or a heatsink has came unmounted etc..
If it goes bluescreen, sounds more hardware to me. Cant remember when the last time software made me bluescreen, its usually hardware stressed out or somethign

You know what I always do? It always works. When ever something fucks up, I restore to a previous point like a week or so, and thing is like the week before I streamed that random porn site. It has never failed me.

1. overheating, bad memory, could be a lot
2. sounds almost like a virus to me next time it does that print screen and save the image
3. bsod's are bad again could be a number of things
download an anti-virus if you don't already have one, make sure it's up to date and scan.. good free ones are AVG free edition and Avira Anti-Vir Personal
try to figure out if it's a hardware or software related problem
reformatting never hurts :P

if you run an anti-virus program be sure to unplug the internet when you run it. A lot of viruses when deleted or detected have a seperate program type thing that connects to the internet and either redownloads it, or gets somthing else on your computer.

found this under problem in the control panel
"You received this message because a hardware device, its driver, or related software has caused a blue screen error. This type of error means the computer has shut down abruptly to protect itself from potential data corruption or loss. In this case, we were unable to detect the specific device or driver that caused the problem. "
