I installed a new rebuilt Gtir t28 on my sr20 today doing everything correctly, but when I went to do some test runs, my engine started acting wierd. I had the wga at 12psi as well as the boost controller.....
its a hks wga and i didnt have the manual so i had to do it manually... anyways, it boosts fine, but when i get to about 5-6k rpm, it just doesnt wanna push anymore and feels as if the turbo is being limited too much? when i open up the wga alot, i get crappy boost, but the problem goes away? im pretty sure its just the wga... but any solutions?

do you have the right vacuum lines connected? it should be the one under throttle body to the wastegate and your boost controller intercepting it.

yeah all the vacuum lines are good. i checked them first... i just feels as if "my engine[turbo] is gonna self desruct around 6k rpm...

is anything obstructing the movement of the actuator arm? It's possible that your maf is maxing out..maybe it's dirty, boost leak, could be a clogged fuel filter restricting fuel flow. check those things clean them up. Do you have any sort of aftermarket ecu?

I had the same issue around 5500-6k car just had no balls, no boost. Turned out the be a bad MAF. Try swapping with a buddy to know for sure.

forgot to mention that.... i have a Emance tune for a stock setup w/ more fuel... maybe that has something to do with it? could be a boost leak, but i have everything double clamped....
its just wierd how when i loosen the wga alot the problem goes away... along with my power... i get about .3 bar peak boost...

try unhooking your boost controller and just use the wastegate as your controller.

where would i run the vaccum lines without the boost controller? i have the vacuum line out of the wga going into one port of my DSBC boost cont. and the other is coming from under the TB into the other port of the DSBC...
which one do i connect? also i get full boost at 5-6k rpm... its just as if the turbo is trying to overload or somthing...?

just try running the vacuum line from under the throttle body straight to the actuator and see if that helps.
