If you go with the B&M make sure you get one of the newer redesigned ones. Otherwise it will chatter and over 5,000 rpm's it will make A LOT of noise.

Search. I've talked about the difference of shifters like 9 bazillion times.

Actually, B&M's don't make all that much noise. it's definately noticable, but worth the excellent performance imho. B&M just makes a quality product, there's no disputing it. Go with the B&m.

I just installed a B&M a couple days ago, and it's definately well-built. I like it, but it might not be for everybody. Shifting now has a very notchy, heavy, solid "ker-chunk" feel like cocking a big machine gun or something as opposed to the light rubbery thump of the stock unit. You have to shift much more deliberately becuase the effort is fairly high and the gates are very close together, but you should get used to it after a day or so. The first day I kept taking off in third gear becasue I kept forgetting I had to really force it hard over into first. Oh, and it does make a bunch of racket over 6000 rpm, but it doesn't really bother me since the interior is so loud anyway, plus it's kinda like an audible shift light. Getting the two forward bolts out of the stock base plate was kinda a bitch, but luckily I had a lift to use so I could stand and get them from underneath. I think the C's is easier to install because it keeps the factory base plate, but I may be wrong about that. If it does, I imagine it's slightly less effective for doing so.

I just installed the B&M too. I like it. The only time I have any issues is when the tranny is still cold and it becomes difficult to get into gear (just like stock only worse). Once warm it's niiiice.

I too installed the B&M about 2 weeks ago and really love it. It is so solid and the throw is very short. You will not be dissapointed. And as far as the infamous rattle goes, I can't believe people even make an issue about that. If you are cruising around town or just get on it a little there is no sound. The only time you can hear it is near redline and if your all the way up there then who cares . . . really? Great product. Very satisfied.

I love my B&M shifter too but it does make A LOT of noise. I talked to the B&M sales rep at the last NOPI in Atlanta. He said that there was a design flaw that was being corrected. He recommended removing my shifter and mailing it back to them to be modified. So, like I said, if you get one make sure it is a newer one and not an old one thats been sitting on a shelf.

Well, I have the "new" on and it still buzzes. It's inherent in the fact that it's a solid connection to the tranny, and the pivot point is metal as well.

Yeah, they said that if they reworked mine that it would still buzz. Does yours knock around 5000 RPM and above?
