I have been searching all over for a kit and I can not find one. Having someone make one is going to be out of my price range and the only one I have seen being sold is by J Racing out of Australia. This kit isn't wide enough and would still have to be molded in to look right. I really like the one that is pictured under the Tokyo Auto Salon thread. The URL is http://www.gnakata.crosswinds.net/net_files/2003_tokyoautosalon/silvias/49websilvia.jpg Can anyone help me out? Thanks, Casey

One question... what do you plan on putting this on:confused: ?
I'm gonna feel really salty if you have an S15:(

The chicago population seems to be growing, ever since Irena left :p .
Having someone make one is going to be out of my price range
Swapping the Tails is gonna cost quite a bit, and fitting an S15 body kit onto an S14 is gonna cost a lot too. The dimensions don't match up perfectly. I think you would be better off getting a custom kit that resembles the one you put in the picture.

wont work. give you, if you dnt have the money to get the wide body, then the rear conversion will cost a bitmore mayb. and it wont fit perfectly since the s15 is smaller than the s14. also if you put the s15 tails on the s14, it wont look exactly like the s15. when honda owners put R34 tails on their tegs, does it look exactly like a r34? no.

Well lets see, as far as i know that doesnt really qualify as a "wide body kit". But that is a C-West body kit N1.
There is one at this site. http://homepage3.nifty.com/perky_rx6/
It looks about the same as the C-west one though and I don't know how you would get one imported to the US.

That really is not a widebody and there is no why you can get your car to look like that and its a waste of money.
Unless you buy the S15 that's laying in some NJ junkyard.
I'm serious about that.

I would have said just as GT did, but I was hopin that spiv would figure out what a foolish question that was. Dont waste your money, unless of course you have it flowin outta your ass like non other. Going to guess that you need to read up a LOT more on the silvia family and each yearly release.

Are these the normal answers to everybody's questions? I know exactly what I want and I though maybe someone could help me out. I wasn't looking for someone to tell me it is a waste of money and it would be stupid. If everyone had the same likes and dislikes then everyone's car would look the same Thanks to ratm for a step in the right direction. Casey

there are quite a bit of widebody kits in japan.
1 i'm too lazy to link you up cuz i have to dig thru the mags at home, but i would personally suggest another route
get wide fenders. 30 mm over ones that replace the stock s15 fenders. BUT you couldnt use them if your car isnt a real s15. lots of fab work, and more difficult since fiberglass-tyep as well..
it MIGHT be easier ifyou get stock s15 fenders and stock whatever fenders you have, weld them together and have them pulled out (flared) out.
anyways, i have seen quite a few widebody s15s from japan.

These are not normal answers because that was not a normal question.
But here is a simple answer...to make your car similar (but not exactly) close to the car you post......I would have some fender flares molded onto the car. Once again that car is not a widebody.....are atleast not an obvious widebody kit. The car is a S15 and no way simliar to a S14.....but atleast you can do a front end conversion and jack the steering wheel for around......$3000 (w/o paint).
BTW.......I'M SERIOUS ABOUT THAT S15 IN THE NJ JUNKYARD!!!

There is a skyine at www.stage2racing.com under the nissan link. This is how extreme I wanted a widebody kit to be. The previous picture of the silvia that I linked was basically me settling:) I can't find any place that has C-West fenders for a S15 however. The price for the custom ones that someone else linked would be about $550. I don't know if this is for 1 or 2 and it does not include all the shipping costs. If they ever part out that S15 I would be interested. Later, Casey:)

Holy ****, do you realise how much you could sell the Silvia for? Fix it, youd probably make like 40 grand. If I had the chance, and 8500, that thing would be mine!
And Spiv, you should jut get the fascia and then just roll the fenders.

From what I heard no matter what you do to a S15 you can not make it street legal. I am in Indiana so Cali is a ways away. I have found one kit which is 20mm or 30 mm wider and it comes with front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, and all four fenders for $2000 without shipping from japan. How much could you make the fenders for? Thanks, Casey

Dude................Wide bodies are soooooooooooooo expensive.....they are even expensive for shops to buy...there's like no mark-up in them at all!!!!!!!!!! And fitting them is massively expensive...a boy of mine has one on his CRX....he paid 6500 for it just to be molded on!!!!!! not to mention paint!!!!!

to have a car in HK is rich enough. but to have a s15 imported from japan is pretty super rare. sme goes for the GTR and its neighbor
oh and that guy who owns the s15 was SUPER rich. car was modded (semi-heavy) and he only had it since november. those pics were taken in january!
here's a few other pics of the cars. the GTR is owned by the shop (tuning shop) guy. VERY nice people. i talked with them for a bit and they were extremely helpful and polite. yes that's midnight purple. its beautiful :) and that white car, that's a Chaser :)

your thinking of Masa's Stagea w/ a R34 front end. completely different.
and headlights/taillights on the R34/33/32 vary quite a bit between the trim levels.

Riiiiiiiiiiiight. I guarantee you that that 'street legal' car would not pass a good inspection by DOT or DMV. Maybe in 2026, he'll get one here legally, as you can import any damn 25 year old car you want, but not in 2003 and not in 2004, unless someone ponies up the cash to crash test and legalize them. Don't talk about what you don't know about what's legal and what's not.
Sure you can import any car you want, but it won't necessarily be legal for street use.
zenkiDori
09-12-2003, 10:34 AM
well, i do know for a fact it's street legal because he was not going to get one if he couldn't drive it on the street. there is a way to get the S15 legal without crashing it, and it's really not that hard or expensive. so unless you have friends that deal with importers or that kind of thing, i'd stop quoting what you read in magazines little boy.

I've done the research and I know the requirements for importation of newer cars. You, clearly, do not. You're probably referring to either loopholes in the system like temporary allowances for personally owned vehicle for persons staying in the US less than one year for school or business, or maybe you're referring to simple VIN swapping.
I don't know.
What I do know is that currently, an S15 is not streel legal in the US for Joe Everybody.
SilviaDriver
09-12-2003, 01:21 PM
im sure its not "legal" as well. yes you can import a car for about 1-2yrs then it will either
1. get sent back
2. crushed
no. its not legal. i dare him go up and try and register it as a silvia. does he have documentation that its legal? im sure motorex provides documents that allows it to be registered by the DMV with inurance. tell him to go up to the DMV and inspect his car. i doubt it will pass.
zenkiDori
09-12-2003, 08:12 PM
everybody simmer down. the importer is not motorex, i do not know the name, but what i do know is this:
the S15 is imported stock, all that changes is emissions to make it pass cali smog. the way they register it is as a "special 240SX". it's not VIN swapping, the DOT or DMV or whoever does the issuing if VINs makes you a new one. i know for a fact this is possible, as well, one guy(at least) already has one.
the VIN swapping is actually really simple and easy to get away with. there is a guy on the east coast with a yellow S15 that swapped VINs and he has had no problems.
sorry i got a littel ticked, it's just there are so many ricers on BBSs that just read SS or whatever and take that as gospel. i know this way is legal, the DMV and DOT don't care. it's the most legal way i have ever heard of. but seriously, if i had the money, i'd just swap VINs with my S14. disagree if you want, but i know for a fact this is the way it is.

everybody simmer down. the importer is not motorex, i do not know the name, but what i do know is this:
the S15 is imported stock, all that changes is emissions to make it pass cali smog. the way they register it is as a "special 240SX". it's not VIN swapping, the DOT or DMV or whoever does the issuing if VINs makes you a new one. i know for a fact this is possible, as well, one guy(at least) already has one.
the VIN swapping is actually really simple and easy to get away with. there is a guy on the east coast with a yellow S15 that swapped VINs and he has had no problems.
sorry i got a littel ticked, it's just there are so many ricers on BBSs that just read SS or whatever and take that as gospel. i know this way is legal, the DMV and DOT don't care. it's the most legal way i have ever heard of. but seriously, if i had the money, i'd just swap VINs with my S14. disagree if you want, but i know for a fact this is the way it is.
man you really are clueless, no the DMV nor the DOT will not just roll over for your wishes or dreams. No they will not let you just register a S15 as a "Special 240sx" hahahhahhahhahahahha.
They will not simply create a new vin for you. They will make you put the car through federal crash safety standards i.e. crash testing several chassis's . Vin swapping is a federal offense its Fraud straight out!! Have fun getting butt raped in the Federal Pen. for that one boy when they catch you driving your vin swapped car.
Also whoever told you the DOT does not care, has got to be your 14 year old kid brother.
DOT is very serious about this shit. Why do you think MotoRex got shut down? They did not follow the rules they had agreed to and the DOT said ooops you messed up, We caught you. Out of business for you.
