i have a stock s14 with a ka24de...recently it has started blowing out smoke when i idle for a few moments like at a stop light and proceed to go...the car doesnt overheat at all...i have noticed that it is burning through oil at a fast pace...i also dont notice my car leaking at all either...what can be causing the smoke? and what can i check to fix it?...can anyone help me out:aw:...i am pretty new to working on cars and diagnosing problems...any help is greatly appreciated :)

check to see if your oil is a milky color if it is its a head gasket

Compression and leak down test.

actually if its not overheating and its burning through oil quickly it should be a blown head gasket but bluish smoke....

Smoke and you're losing oil so thats screaming rings to me. Check you're compression, they're probably low...Blue smoke is usually oil...

Get a good coolant temp gauge. You don't know if you're overheating or not by guessing or by using the OEm gauge, which is the same thing as guessing.

Smoke after idling but not while moving = bad valve guides.
