S14 Sr in S13 Chassis.
So I’m driving down the high way, I start to notice my water temp gauge rising slightly
I have the stock one (cluster) but I have also installed one on the coolant neck where the bleed screw is.
So its starts climbing then goes back down. Its goes up again, I check to make sure my fans are running, and of course they are. I turn the heat on pull right over and turn the car off.
There’s coolant coming from somewhere on the exhaust side, dripping down I suppose on to the turbo and burning off.
Also I touched the koyo rad, and it was stone cold. Opened it up, i dont see any coolant.
I towed it home, next day I fill the car up with fluid, in the past I usually had water coming out of the bleeder screw before the rad filled up. This time the rad filled up.
Leads me to think the thermostat is stuck...
Another thing my overflow tank was at the fill mark, hasnt moved since i put fluid in there. which makes me think, my rad cap isnt working properly...
So if my rad cap wasn’t relieving pressure in the system. Build up of pressure that caused a leak somewhere? Blown HG? loose coolant lines to turbo?
I have had no heating problems with this car so far...
What should I do...?
Change thermostat,
Pressurize test on the cooling system?
Also if i were to be losing coolant, can the temp sensor still operate without water? could i have been overheating??
