Turbo elbow welded to downpipe?

So, I bought a used greddy elbow from somebody on here.... and he basically cut the studs. I can get a grip on them, but yet they aren't budging (I've tried heating it up and using vice grips, and doing the two nut method, nothing... if you have any other ideas, be my guest)
So I figured it basically just be easiest to have my megan downpipe welded to the turbo elbow.

Now, will I have enough room/clearance to mount this onto the engine while it's in the car? I know the circuit sports one is one piece, yet it is also slimmer.

If you dont think you would have room worst case scenario would be to just jack the car up then install. You should have room tho.

It is possible. Just a hassle because you gotta deal with clearing the studs on the turbo and brake lines right behind it.

btw. I always install the elbow from the bottom and bolt it up and then bolt up the downpipe.

Also the bolts on the bottom of the elbow are gonna be a bitch to screw on.

They look likes studs in an elbow. Impossible to get out. If you have any ideas on it let me know. I've tried nearly everything to get them out. Vice & vice grips, pb blaster on em, heating the whole damn thing up, "two nut" method.... Any ideas be my guess. It looks like the smooth part of the studs is too far in. Idk. I'm clueless to how to get these out.

drill them out, and tap it with a thread tapper one size larger. you can get a thread tapper for cheap, and if you don't have the drill bit already, that will be cheap too.

everything you need can be picked up in one place, a hardware store.

pick up studs and nuts that are the same size as the tap you purchased and viola

shit's like new. make that metal your bitch.

...or if your'e too much of a pussy to use a thread tapper.

just fuckin drill the studs out, buy some nuts and bolts and be done with it.

you don't NEED studs, they're just cool, that's all.

Yeah, I was kinda opting avoiding drilling them out. But W/e works I guess. So no one knows about if I can still slide on the elbow and downpipe if they are welded together?

you can get it in there for sure. the hard part will be bolting it up unless you have someone hold it up for you while you bolt it.

Drill through the middle of them. Heat 'em up, they'll come out then.

Drilling is gonna be a royal PITA because that thing gets super hot, so the metal is "heat treated" by that and seriously hard. I'd get under the car and visualize with it to see if you can weld it. IIRC the part is a pain to bolt up because of clearance with itself; not a downpipe below it.

A nice drill bit will go right through it. The stainless alloy in the studs used by GReddy isn't very hard at all. Hell, don't care how hot you get it, any stud material isn't going to be hard compared to a cobalt or carbide drill bit. Or even a HSS bit really.

I drilled right through them no luck. Thanks anyways though. I'm just gonna punt and weld the two together.

Take a torch to the studs and get the threads around them hot as balls. Then double nut the stud, drop your purse and turn that bish with some authority. It'll come loose.
