Ok my car was running just fine and I go to get in and start it up, and... It wont turn over. I have power to everything and my volt gauge is where it should be. My grounds are fine and my wiring is too.
What would cause this ?

the starter may be frozen up if u hit it it may break lose and crank id try that or it may be the nutreal saftey switch as stated above if that all you would have to di is cross the 2 wires on it and it will work thats what was wrong with one of my cars and if that dosnt work may be a bad ground on the starter hope it helps man

It can also be your ignition switch.
If it's something that happens once in awhile it could also be a faulty battery cable. Try the little things before you go opening your tranny.

EXACT same thing happened to me today. Parked the car, came out an hour later and wouldn't start. Can you hear the starter relay clicking? If you can it's probably the starter.

yes try little things first and im not sure where it is on the sr tranny even if it has one on mine it was a plug on the outside and all u do is unplug it and cross the 2 wires

the neutral switch on tranny wont stop car from starting at least the 240sx. the neutral switch sends info to the computer but not sure what information. my car for example will start in gear. ive never heard of anyone not starting car because of neutral switch. alot of people think the clutch interlock switch is the neurtal switch. anyway, the clutch has to be depressed to start car.

I just did my five speed swap(used to be an auto sr) and I believe it did this a few times before it became five speed. So I dont think it would be the starter or neutral switch. Also my switch is not hooked up, just screwed in.

Just give it the old BFH treatment. If you smack the starter with a hammer a couple times and it starts, then you know what your problem is.

hit the sarter with a pipe or something.. if it turns over after that then you need a new starter... i have one

i had the same problem. later on i checked the clutch peddle and the rubber part that presses the buttom fell off.. a nut and bolt fixed the problem

how hard should I hit it ?
Angrily and with no remorse.
Really though, like you were hammering in a nail. Not as hard as you can, but definitely solid hits.

if starter dosent even click and shit then you should do a voltage drop test with a multimeter on the exciter wire you know the one from the ignition. see if your getting battery voltage if you are. then move on to the ground and do the test on the ground side. :l101:

a fuel pump wouldnt cause it not to crank but the ignition switch could...also check the connection on your battery make sure the connectors on the rods are tight and if not tighten them and try again :l101:

Again, lets do the easiest thing first. It takes literally 5 seconds to tap on the starter with a hammer, or wrench, or anything hard. Rule out the easy stuff first.

I tapped the starter with a tac hammer, no luck.
Took off the starter wire and put it back on, no luck.
Checked the ignition and components, no luck.

try it bro. im having the same exact problem as you. i highly refuse to take it to a shop as they would charge you more than you expect. i rely on these zilvians because if they reply, most likely they have had these problems. i know i will get my car started because of the advise they give me. as soon as i get my car started ill post here.

oh and yea check the ignition switch. i had to take off the panel under the steering column and the housing behind the steering wheel. checked my ignition switch and someone had cut the wires for some reason, then soldering it back with different color wires. luckily everything was soldered to the right wire. but this is commonly done because of an alarm system.

dude i just fixed my problem. went and bought a new starter, new battery cables and that worked. my car is now running. so check those bro. it has to be one of those because if the car doesnt crank. its only within that system.
