or

i have a few questions though,

1. i want to use Montana spray paint since its some of the best spray paint on the market and they have a lot of color choices. is there anything better to use?

2. whats the best way to get the flat finish? use gloss paint and flat clear coat or just use flat paint?

3. if i decide to paint my wheels that gold color whats the best way to do it?

thanks

Just use flat paint.

wheels should be powdercoated

ive already had a flat black car, i loved it. i think its the most practical color to paint a car. though id love to make it satin instead of flat but i dont know if i could do that with spray cans.

well if your body is smooth already then dont prime it again.

just wet sand with like a 400 grit or 600 grit. up to you if you wanna go any further. but i dont think its necessary since its gonna be satin

anyways.

this would be a good time to work on any imperfections. such as dents.

nice car btw. love how clean it is.

thanks, i hope i dont ruin it with the satin black, but i really do hate red.

It is all up to you

but

from those of us that have been in this "scene" for years now, people that paint their stock looking s13s flat black, just plain don't think it out.

Those Rough World cars look rad. REALLY RAD

Stock s13s absolutly do not.

but like I said, it is yours.
do what you like

get a cheap air compressor and buy "hot rod flatz" .. should come out better then a spray can job.. .spray can jobs typically look, well spray canned.

Ive seen roller paint jobs with satin black rustoluem loook better then any spray can job.

i was thinking of rolling it on, might be easier too. i might do gloss white or black too....its still up in the air.

Yeah, flat paint on the RWB cars look good because the cars are rad, not the other way around. Flat on a stockish 240 just screams cheap. The RWB cars are booth painted flat anyways.

Vinyl wrap is no good either, a good wrap is just as expensive as a cheap paint job. Sounds weird, but vinyl wraps should be done on expensive cars.

+1
I agree with HyperTek. Spraycans just look all blotchy and spotted. You can find a decent compressor that will get the job done.

your car is not agressive enough for this. do those RWB cars look like a stock 240 with some bad fitment wheels? NO THEY DONT.

DO IT RIGHT OR DONT DO IT AT ALL.

I'm sick of seeing primer 240s and flat 240s
what are you a honda guy? thats some gay honda shit.
hell all the 240 bandwagoners in my area do the same shit.
cars all look like shit, its fucking pathetic.

the money you waste on spray paint can get you a cheap maaco job and at least that will look better!

What makes you so different mr. innovation? I'm pretty sick and tired of everyone thinking there on some other plateu of fucking awesome because they owned a nissan first.

Here is your pat on the back.

Fact is fucking idiots paint their cars flat black with cans because it's cheap and it makes it one color and people come with the assumption their car is now some sleeper. When in fact it's just a piece of shit that looks like the paint rotted off of it.

I've seen flat black neons, lowriders, honda's, nissans, subaru's...

Don't blame everything in live on honda owners kthx.

man. i agree with everyone

your paint looks really clean. dont destroy it!!
flat looks cool if it is booth painted, and only on like ferraris and porsches and stuff.

i imagine it would be hard to clean also.

so i have bad fitment because i didnt spend 4k on giant wheels and lower my car to the ground so its not even drivable? fuck off, go back to your tower, i bet your rolling on rotas or something.

its more a nissan thing than a honda thing, ive seen way more 240s painted flat than anything else. im no ricer (i dont have anything remotley rice on my car) but i honestly think flat colors look cool. just because most flat black cars have zebra stripes on them from spray cans and lok like ass doesnt mean a well done job on a clean car wouldnt look nice.

when i save up enough im going to get my car painted porsche metallic ocean blue anyways.

God, I hate this term 'rice'... Like seriously, who the hell said, "hey man your car is so rice", what? Fluffy white goodness?

To the op, your paint looks in quite good condition, but if you want to experiment with paint, do it right, buy/rent a gun and go to a booth.

me too, it gets thrown around too much, i hear people calling cars rice all day

i dont have a house or somewhere to use one of those, im a college kid in a dorm. rolling paint on is probably the only thing i could do here.
