Clean up Intake Manifold .~? EGR, Knock Senor..

I have a 92 KADE with 175xxx on it. Engine light on and off sometime, I check with the computer it show the EGR or knock sensor are bad so I change the EGR but it still dose it. So it is the knock sensor are bad?? car run and idle fine, a machanic told me to clean up the carbons that build up in the intake manifold and it show fix the problem. Is it true?

it can help. go to your local auto store like kragen, autozone, etc. and get some intake cleaner. spray it in the intake track while the engine is running. I used Gamont or something intake cleaner and fuel injector cleaner. helped make the engine run smooth and my mpg really went up

DON'T GET CARB CLEANER, it will fuck up your engine, destroy your mafs, etc.

i have the same problem. engine light came on and stays on. some one told me to put in octane boost but i still havent got anything. the problem came out as p0325 knock sensor problem bank #1 and also p0505 iacv-aac calve fault..i have a ka24de

I give a try on the cleaner, before I try sea foam.. after used it the car idle weird then I replace injector and plug then car run good now but engine light on and off...

if you have a check engine light code for knock sensor your car is most likely knocking! I spent 124 dollars to replace my knock sensor and guess what still rod knocking. Old sensor worked fine although it was all fucked up!

i have had my knock sensor on mine saying knock sensor #1. i had taken my valve cover off and found a whole bunch of carbon build up in between pistons 1and2 and 3and4. i got that build up out and the car has alot better responce and have not had a code come up yet. it has been about 4 days. im going to use sea foam in it this weekend and some other things to help clean it up. i have 167xxx miles on mine. but it is in a 98 altima.

If the EGR is bad, it will cause carbon build up in the manifold, and will need to be cleaned, or it will just ruin your new egr.
