A honda motor belongs in a Honda and a Nissan Motor belongs in a Nissan... I can't stand inter-Company swaps like " Hey I got a great idea...why don't I put a Cummins Turbo Diesel into a 240!"

Funny thing is, is that once you stick that SR in there, its not really a civic now is it? I mean yeah it has the body and stuff, but the engine is the heart, it makes the car. They could have at least stayed with the Honda line.

If I were to post a pic of Top Secret's Supra almost all of you would be like cool car, wish I had one, but its the same situation here. For those who don't know Top Secret's Supra (at least one of them, not sure if they have more than one) has an RB26 in it. It just goes to show that Nissan engines are the ****.

I don't really hate how Civics look stock, I mean you barely see a stock civic rolling around, its a rare thing to have (although his isn't stock).

But the moral to this story is just cuz it's a civic doesn't mean it can't use a different companies engine, you can also look at Datsun (Chevy Engines) RX7s mainly FCs (domestic V8s), prolly more examples but those are some of the popular ones.

s14 front ends on hondas don't bother me. it's the equivalent of a Fiat owner over in europe putting Peugeot front lights on his car. i don't see these things, ever, and never will. and i will never see s14 lights on a honda so why would i get pissed off over it?

i think it's great he put an SR in there. and besides, he just gained about 87 pounds of torque in a few days, and that's just stock. ;)

That engine isn't out of a 180sx or a silvia. Because civic = FF not FR. Unless they are converting that into FR which I doubt. Did they jsut take the sr20de and put the turbo on it? what car is that engine out of then? I forgot what nissan has the sr20de FF.

its more than likely out of either a GTI-R or Bluebird. Which in Japan are FF and AWD vehicles with the SR20DET. They had a good Idea but just the wrong Car.

There are no FF SR20DETs, only AWD, when you swap, EVERY company I have seen (make special note that I say that "I have seen") tells you to get the FF SR20DE from an SE-R to complete the swap, the AWD tranny won't bolt up, of course...

Have you ever tried it? Its kinda crazy when you set your car up loose, the rear end starts coming around and then you step on the GAS to make the car stay on line. Driving powerful FF cars is different from driving powerful FR cars but no less entertaining.

i had an integra rs (non-vtec) before i had 240, my old integra produce power of almost 200hp (ls/vtec), and i autocross a lot
so i noticed the difference in handling between when its stock and when its modded...
i just dont like the handling... understeer a lot...
not that fun anymore...
so i sold it

Damns some of you guys took it a little far with the negative coments. Why did the shop do this??? Cause they can, and i give them props for that, **** i couldent do it, and i dont think most of the people on this board could. My guess is only llike 10%of the people here even have swaps in there 240sx. Yeah its a civic yeah its a nisasan motor. Im sure the V8 guys would be like why a little nissan motor and not a fwd v8? Its all about because they can. And ya cant hold that againt them.

Engine: It's out of a bluebird, GTI-R. Either way those motors have been popular swaps for sentra guys even before 240's came into the mix. You guys need to remember that the Sentra folks started the SR craze, not 240.

If they can do it than more power to em. It's great to see some originatlity now and again.


Body kit: Even though stillens body kits are ugly as heck, They are made out of urethane. How many other body kit manufacturers do you know that make urethane kits?


I wonder what they did to the crossmember to make the oil pan clear? Fuel? Wiring harness? Jeez they must be working their asses off to get the thing running.

Interesing thought:

what if they were able to take an entire front suspension...with engine/tranny/drivetrain/hubs/etc. from a Bluebird (Altima) with SR20DET, and drop that in a Civic? The Altima has a front track dimension of 57.3"...remember that it rides on struts up front just like a 240.

The new Civic Si also now has struts up front, and it's track is 57.8" (for the math-retarded...that's a 1/2" difference)

Iiiiiiiiinteresting. I would imagine that with a bit of crafty strut tower work, and perhaps a set of custom coilovers, and we'd be in business!

I have the new solution for the low-revving USDM Si! Simply get a JDM/AuDM SR20DET front clip from a Bluebird and get to work!!!

Wait guys this has been done!!! Remeber in that one movie about street racing... Fast and Furious. Didnt the main bad guy, umm Jackie Chang say something "Where are my SR20s" to that old guy while making him drink nasty wine. Yeah so all civics need is an SR20 so their balls can drop.

I have to give them props but this has gone to far. S14 on Civics, Clipse, Tegs, all those people want is some other car they dont have. But yes it is ridicolous. So Peace out g's

P.S. I plan not to go and see F&F2 b/c of all the damn ricers out there having a party and showing of their CAI and reving their cars really loud. You can hear the faint screaming of pain from their engines.
