why didn't you just link to the original thread on NICO?

With that said, I don't know, and really I don't care as I'm not a huge fan of it in the first place, and I'd never buy one anyways. It could all just be propaganda trying to tarnish the name.

...or it could be legit. *shrug*

Haha no... The GTR is a specialty car.

They will rape you as much as they can on a car like this, because they know you have the cash and don't have to entice you to buy it.

whats with the transmission thing?

i read/heard somewhere that nissan made a specific transmission for a specific motor. does that mean if the transmission is fucked nissan makes a brand new one just for that motor? damn

15 times isn't really that surprising.

I've seen sheared gears from WRX trannies after once launch. AWD launching is harsh

EDIT:

after reading through the Nico thread, it seems that even after the 15+ launches the transmission doesn't blow up. The shifting gets more harsh and louder. The clutches need to be realigned as well, still reasonable if you ask me.

The Enzo has a similar "problem", like what...6 full bore launches before rebuild

The reason(s):

- warranty
- consistent performance
- don't mod the car in ways that will void warranty

Ya and it will fall apart in two years. LOL no solution there hahahhahhahhaha

The only thing completely reliable on a Corvette is the engine and drivetrain. The rest of the car is bucket of bolts and plastic that rattles apart.

On the topic of the GTR , yes its going to cost more to have repairs done at the dealership because guess what its a expensive car. Have any you guys priced out how much it cost to get a Mercedes Benz worked on at the Dealer? Or a BMW or a Porsche.
Hell Porsche's are expensive as hell to maintain. Don't even get me started on average oil change costs and tune costs on a Porsche. If your not working on your Porsche yourself your paying through the nose for basic maintenance.

As far as launches go, are you really expected to be launching your car constantly? That does qualify as a exhibition of speed ticket in almost all states in the country.

Plus the OP post a link from a Mitushitty forum. LOL of course they want to hate. The company that brought you the Zero, handled well, fast as hell and fell apart. Nothings changed. EVO's fast as hell, handle well and fall apart.
This thread is lame as its over amping something from a pair of forums not exactly known for being exceptionally smart.
