well its been about 1500 miles since rebuild and it is a sohc ka, i changed the oil every 300 miles.. and the last oil change was yesterday using 10w-30 valvoeline, the oil was rather dark, not sure why, no smoke comes out the exhaust, and the engine is kind of loud.. also my timing chain i think started rattling this morning, anyone know what could be the cause of this?
i will have a vid tomorrow of my car idling

Well two things, I hope "i changed the oil every '300' miles" was a typo and supposed to be 3000 miles hahaha.
This is odd, my buddy had a rebuild and his timing chain was rattling too. He eventually got rod knock, or just mistaked the sound of timing chain rattle for rod knock or vice versa. ANyways, check your chain guide, those things like to break off and just chill and rattle around.

It sounds like timing chain is rattling, rod knock is louder than that. If you pull off the valve cover you should be able to see any broken peices, if non then check the tensioner maybe the chains loose.
