i have not had my car running in a year.
i do not have compression and i have no idea why.

ive replaced the head gasket mutliple times.... look at some of my other threads to see all of the crap i went through.
anyways i had finally gotten my car running some time ago and it was acting wierd, after a little diagnostics i realized cylinder 4 was under water after some more bs i realized that 2 of my head studs were streched

anyways i pulled the head had it resurfaced and i put a new hks head gasket and new arp head studs on reset timing and i have no compression, ive reset timing again and still no compression.

i am at a loss here, i mean from everything ive ever known even if the headgasket is royally fucked the motor will still make compression but im reading 0's across the board, if the rings were bad i would still read something, even if the block is cracked it would read something.

idn im about the just stop bothering with this engine.

any ideas on what could be off?

what are you using as a compression tool? You can do a ghetto compression test, take out your sparkplugs and stuff towls down the holes and see if they fly up, i doubt you're getting a zero.

^^lol at ghetto compression test, try that shit. I think your compression tester gauge is messed up.

word. is zero compression even possible? lol

im using the same compression tester i used before i swapped the heads again, it reads fine and without a problem, if the valves on the motor stay open you wont read any compression because the air is just free flowing in the motor

if at some point you didnt get the timing dead on, you might have hit the intake valves against the pistons.

ive seen this happen before and it puts a very tiny bend in the valves giving you a compression reading of zero.

+1, valve staying open or having a hole on the piston or fucked up ring lands can give you 0 compression.

Also, have you followed the FSM to a hilt as far as setting the mechanical timing. If the mechanical timing is off, the valves may not be closing properly...

timing is dead on.. the motor has done this before, but i have no idea why, i thought the same thing so i pulled the head and inspected it no dings no bent valves.

the timing was set my my boy lorenzo, he is a nissan master tech, he has been doing sr swaps since 95 and owns 3 s13 an a nismo edition r32 skyline with an n1 motor
