Well i blew my built bottom end (http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/209618-gt2871r-turbine-damage-pic-inside.html)and now I'm going to put in a stock bottom end and drive it how it is for a while... So I no longer need this crazy clutch!!
Details: This is the Exedy twin cerrametallic plate clutch.. It has less than 2k miles on it. I mic'd the discs (see pics!) and the front plate reads in at .154" (3.92mm), and the rear at 1.56" (3.96mm). New these discs come at 4.00mm and they are reccommended to be replaced at 3.00mm. So needless to say these discs have very little wear. The metal friction surfaces are pretty smooth, they look strange in the pics, but when you run your fingers across them, they are smooth. This clutch is barely broken in.
This is a little harsh on the street, the friction point when disengaging the pedal is VERY small, it takes some getting used to. If you aren't going to be running high power, I definitely don't recommend this clutch.
HPF: "Stage 4: Sprung Center - Road/Track Use
For high-powered applications, EXEDY offers twin and triple Multi-Plate clutches. These are designed for hot street action as well as drag, road, and rally racing.
The twin plate clutches are rated for above 500hp to 750hp.
All of EXEDY's multi-plate clutches come with a lightweight, chrome moly steel flywheel and the famous purple anodized forged aluminum clutch cover. All have T5001 cerametallic friction materials for extreme heat resistance.
Engine modifications e.g. cam-timing-turbo modifications etc. cause engine pulsation and vibrations. These vibrations can cause clutch rattle when the clutch pedal is depressed by movedment on the itnermediate separator plate in some applications. These noises will in no way affect the performance of the Exedy Mutli Plate Clutch. This rattle is well accepted in the performance industry where engine modifications have been carried out.
The SD Type has been developed for hot street cars and race cars with up to 750hp. The clamp load is generally 1000kg (2205 lb)
They feature ventilated, thick intermediate plates for improved life and spring damper discs to protect your transmission and driveline."
Cheapest I have seen new on these is $1600.. I would like get get $600 OBO. It's not worth it to me to sell it for much less than that. Keep in mind that this also includes the lightweight chrome moly flywheel, so it's not that much more than buying a stage 3 or less and a flywheel. This is the ultimate high HP sr20 clutch, forget about ever having a weak clutch again! Also comes with the special TO bearing and the bolts that hold the front cover on..
On with the pics!
