Pry back the lock plate, use a adjustable wrench to break loose. Spin out.

^^^What he said if all your doing is the inner tie rod. If you doing an outer you have to remove a cotter pin and take off a nut(17mm i think) then whack it out with a hammer.Easy stuff, comes with out. And if your doing an outer make sure to pack it with grease, thats what the bleeder valve on the bottom is for.

Hammer is fine if you use your head. Think about were your hitting it, dont make it worse on yourself by bending the shit out of something. Finess is key with all suspension.

For the outer tie rods, I usually spray A LOT of PB blast or some kind of penetrating oil on the pillow ball joint. Then hammer it out. Comes out with ease most of the time.
For the inners, I will take a vise grip and clam it down on the flat square surface of the tie rod. I will then take a channel lock and clam down the vise grip like crazy. Get a sledge and hammer away. Should come loose on the second hit. haha. (This method I learned from Ramon. Thank you.)
Before that method I would have used a crescent and hammered away, or used a pole on the end of the crescent. This method above is much easier.

The easiest method is to use the appropriate size crowfoot wrench for the tie rod, but I forget what size it is. Most quality auto tool suppliers sell them along with a hollow rod that slides over the rod and grips the crowfoot, then you just use a ratchet to break it loose. I want to say it's like a 38mm or so.

Well i just removed my tie rods today if ur not keeping the old tie rods all i did was torch the outer tie rod. and used alot of wd 40 and just wack it with a big fuckin hammer comes out quick. Then for the inner tie rod they sell a specific tool to take them off just search for it it looks like a pipe.

well my method seems pretty easy and commonly used by older folks. for the outers, take the cotter pin and nut off the top and hit the side of the spindle that the end is connected to with a large sledge hammer a few times and it falls off. this way, you dont hurt the threads on the outer end. then for the inners, take the boot off and get an adjustable wrench that fits snug along the fatter, square edges of the inner most part and simply wrench away as if it were a long ass bolt.

Find a close plumber friend
Use a big monkey wrench
Don't ask me why, but lets say it works in a pinch, if you don't have the right tube tool (which we do at the shop)
