Use a can of clear coat and a hvlp spray gun. 90% of body work coming out nice it prep work prep work prep work.
Maybe even doing a wetsand after a good day or so of drying, use around 2500 grit, then polish the paint, will make it come out a little better.
Using two whole cans of clear coat may be the issue as well - more isn't always better when painting.

Any time, post some pictures when you're done and let us know what process you used. I'm sure a lot of other people will benefit from your results.
Good luck!

USE REAL PAINT! If you want it done right anyway. DONT SPRAY PAINT! Simple as that. If you doing base clear, and using real paint dont spray the color wet at all, its ganna be dull. Then when you spray clear, make sure that all coats are done in one session with 10-15mins flash time between coats. Spray wet and if you dont have any runs its not wet enough. And if you wet sand go from 1000 then 1200 to maybe 1500, -2500 is just stupid and its not a show car so it dosnt matter. And what did you finish with before you sprayed color???

+1 on that. and the prep work is what counts. 2500 is stupid huh? right...so this looks stupid...:keke: good luck, and check the definitive paint thread too, good info in there.

I saw a great rattle can bumper job done in black. The dude ended up using 3 cans.
i tried to use 1 can on the hood of my old paint job, and found it to rough. I think to get a thick and even enough clear coat with the rattle can stuff, you gotta go a little over board.
And addiquit dry time is good too, otherwise you will get a hazy finish.
for really good wet sand technique and cheap paint tricks, search up the original $50 paint thread on the Mopar forum.
shits like a couple hundred pages, but TONS of good info there!

with rattle cans you get what you pay for, find someone that does typical base/clear and be done the right way.
