My car last week couldn't stop overheating...... I changed in the beginning of the summer my thermostat, and now my radiator cap. Last night I tested my thermostat to see if it was working properly, it opens at 78 deg C and the brand is "STAN". I did it two times to see if It opens enough to let pass the liquid correctly.

Since my rebuilt, I had too many overheating problem, one caused by a loose belt, and another time my timing was so bad I couldn't drive it for more than 5 min. Now it's supposed to be correct cuz I did more than 2000km on that setting. It's running right now on 91 octane.

I was thinking about my head gasket but It doesn't burn any liquid and my oil is perfect too.

I'm using the stock A/C fan, but it's always on.

What do you think ?

Picture of the temp. I did this morning 43km and the temperature was like that all the time.

Wait, so your only using the stock a/c fan to cool your radiator? No mechanical or other electric fans?

no. There's no more clutch fan. I'm using the stock a/c fan cuz I removed my a/c.

Well uhh your temp gauge looks like its right in the middle, so yeah.

You need more/better fans, 1 stock a/c fan is not enough.

I say take out that a/c fan, and put the stock clutch fan back in, along with the fan shroud.

It's not exactly in the middle because It can go at the little point before the H.

Damn, I had last year a aftermarket fan but I sold it!!!!!! And I don't have anymore that clutch fan and shroud....

That's pretty weird cuz i'm driving this setup since 5 years......

I've used a stock a/c fan on s13. It did the job. It kept my engine cool. Have you burped your radiator properly? You might still have air pockets. Check your coolant temp sensor for your dash gauge.

It's not supposed to have air in my system, maybe a little but that much. I'll see if I need to add coolant again but yesterday It was full!

Maybe it's my temp sensor too but when it's hot it's hot I mean, there's bubble coming from my reservoir....

Could it be a head gasket issue? Similar thing happened to my car. Make sure to get a new coolant temp sensor, they run pretty cheap brand new like $20-$30.

Also after you bleed the air out, have you checked your thermostat? Maybe its getting stuck? Also could be your water pump not pumping that well. Just take it step by step and hope its not head gasket.
