I have a 93 SE fast back and my odometer and tripometer isnt working right, sometimes it will turn fine and record the miles with no problem, but then sometimes it will just stop working, when its not working it makes a clicking noise that speeds up as the car speeds up and slows down as the car slows down.... it usually will work fine when i first start the car up and drive for a lil while, but after about 5 miles or so it quits working and starts ticking, sometimes it will work longer, its just random... does anyone know how to fix this problem? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Try wiggling the trip reset button. It seems to be linked to the odometer too. My friend in an s14 can turn his odometer on and off at will, by pulling or pushing the reset button.

Welcome to the club... Mine works, but 4 people I know have odometers that don't.

the trip and odo *are* linked...it's complex. i took mine apart on an extra gauge cluster (to try and reset the numbers to what my car actually has). first off, spinning that **** with a drill STILL took forever...and putting it back together wasn't fun. Lots of small pieces. Anyway, something back there is probably loose on your car. If it stops working entirely, take apart the dash, get the cluster out, and try and rebuild/reconnect things.

yeah my s14 odo stopped for a short period, unfortunately started back... sometimes I think the reset button jams the odo then you can push it again to fix it. Who needs it! :D
