The car will be an all around fun car. I plan to auto-x it mabey 3 times a year. Hit the drag strip about every 2 weeks, mabey more. And beat the hell out of it throughout the summer.
So ive narrowed it down to 2 choices.
koni yellow struts w/ GC coilover kit. (Im leaning toward these) If I go this route id like an opinion on what spring rates to go with. I dont want to be too stiff because id like to be able to cut a sub 2 sec. 60'. But I want a slight improvement in handling and a minor drop. Im thinking mabey 3.5 front and 2.5 rear? Too soft?
Or the HKS drag coilovers. Im curious as to how these would effect handling. Would they handle better than stock? Anybody have any experience with these?
And im still throwing the JIC FLT-TAR's out there because of their lower than most spring rates (7 and 5).
Thanks for looking guys.

Konis are good all around, but we need to know more about your car (ie what sway bars do you have? how much power? what kind of tires do you run? etc.) if you want an educated guess as to what might work for you.
Spring rates will probably have less to do with performance than the quality of your dampers. Keep that in mind.
From HKS's website- make of it what you will and ask yourself if you think a coilover designed for drag will be okay for autox (I'd bet you'd want something different): "Years of HKS Drag meets in Japan and record breaking HKS Drag vehicles have led to the development of the Hipermax Drag coilover suspension kits. These coilovers are specially valved and have precisely calculated spring rates to deliver the ultimate in 1/4 mile performance."

based on your intentions with the car, HKS.

Thanks for all the quick replies guys.
To luftrofl- The suspension is currently completly stock and worn so I will be replacing basically everything but am starting w/ new struts/springs/coilovers. Power level is currently ~250whp (low boost) but will eventually be ~350 (high boost). Right now im running 275/35/18 in the rear and 245/40/18 in the front. But I will probably get some 15x8 or so wheels w/ some slicks for the strip for next season. Stock vlsd.
Keep um coming fellas!

Is this just a guess or do you have experience with them. Or sarcasim
Anybody here ever drove a car with the HKS drag coils?
I'd go with Konis and coilover sleeves(maybe used GCs). I think a 300/250 (that's about 5/4.5 kg/mm) setup would work ok. You'd have to run the car up a little higher than most cars you see on here due to the soft rates, but it'd work well for what you're talking about doing. Stiffer sways would help in autox at that point. I don't know about going any softer than that... Could MAYBE do a 250/200 lb setup with a near stock ride height, but any lower and I think you'd run out of travel in a hurry while cornering.
I have some 7" 250 lb Eibach ERS if you go that route and need some softer springs.
