I have a code 76 on my ecu (fuel injection system)
and I can hear a hissing sound while the engine is running, I tracked the sound to the rear rubber grommet that holds the fuel rail to the intake manifold, If i spray carb cleaner on or arround the rubber grommet the engine tries to die, it also tries to die if i spray the other 3 grommets that are not making noise!!!
Is it the grommets that are bad or could it be the o-rings on the injectors ???
Can you replace the injectors without pulling the fuel rail ?
Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!

The big round ones are injector o rings. You can buy them at most parts stores. You can take fuel injectors off without removing the entire rail, just pull off the injector caps.

Actually I'll have to pull the fuel rail anyway because i need to replace the rubber o-rings where the vacum leak is !!!

The fuel rail could be bent too, try prying it towards the engine to see if that helps.

Do the large rubber o- rings that the rail rail sit on seal anifold vacum or are they just to keep dirt out of the injectors ?

They seal it from vacuum, boost, fuel, and debris.

would it work to use a silacone sealant on the rubber grommets between the fuel rail and the intake manifold ?

No. Silicone + fuel = leak.
Find out why they're leaking, they may just be dry rotted or torn and need replacing.

I just put new ones on about a month ago but I didn't replace the o-rings on the injectors themselves, could the injector o-rings be what's causing the vacum leak arround the fuel rail grommets ?

Replaced the injector o-rings and fuel rail rubber grommets,no more vacum leak and injector system code 76 went away,I still have an EGR and knock sensor code!!!!
