View Full Version : CA SMOG pros... Should I PNO my S13 track car because...

My S13 is up for registration renewal and I'm working on the chassis right now... The car is going to be down for months... It's turning into a serious track car that won't see the streets at all...

My registration is due right now and I've always kept my track/show cars up to date on reg so that I can drive them around whenever I want... But I don't see the point in registering this thing any more but don't like the idea that I can NEVER legally drive the car on the streets anymore...

No more meets or even testing on the streets/freeways... Not even to drive to and from shops and the dyno... Unless I'm willing to take the risk of getting a ticket..

I always kept up to date registration to AVOID getting sent to a test only center or ref but now it happened... They randomly selected my car for "test only" smog and there is no way I will be able to pass expect for if I reinstalled everything... There is one other way but I can't talk about it here... wink wink...

If I PNO my car, I wonder what would it take to get it reregistered... I don't see it being worse than what my renewal is right now... Anybody have any input?...

I can't believe that I might be retiring my S13 to strictly track use... But maybe the choice to cage it, run no headlights, and a titanium side exit exhaust made the choice for me...
