Help me diagnose a problem
I can't figure this bitch out.

Engine misfire. 2000 Exterra 3.3L

Not getting a good signal to injector #3.
Checked specs of injector. Pass.
Checked output of injector wire w/ noids. Fail.
- real intermittent. maybe only a pulse per 2 seconds or so.
- rev up = better signal
Checked resistance of wiring. Pass.
Backprobed ECU and connected to noids. Fail.

So the ECU is sending out a **** signal to injectoe #3.
What gives?
I also took a look at the ignition control module in the distributor.
Maybe a little arcing going on in there.

But the question is, could a faulty ignition control module cause it to misfire only in one cylinder.
I totally don't remember what I learned.
Thanks guys :P

I love you.

hmmm check the FSM? how many miles on the xterra? do you use cheap gas ? maybe try changing Fuel Filter see if it gets better fuel flow? or regulator problems? fuel pump problem?

Its the actual electrical signal to the inkector that's at fault. Not the mechanics of the injector.
I really need your help on this one fellas. Cars been at my shop for a while already.

Hi John... :-)

SOunds like a bad ground signal on the injector harness.
could be efi harness or engine ground.

Hit me up so we can skeet all over.

well shit man. Sounds pretty wack then.

Did you ohm test the output from each injector and see the variance on number 3?
