Not trying to jack your thread, but i also have a question regarding an hks wastegate. I want to run like 12-14 lbs on my t28 that has a stock wastegate. I have a manual boost controller but can i use that with the stock wastegate and run 14lbs without a problem or do i need to upgrade the wastegate?

GREAT Upgrade!
I just installed mine and Boost Responce was increased.maybe cuz Mine was Shitty...don't know,.

I got it to BE My boost Controller....instead of buying and elec one or "Death Knob".

You will not need a Boost controller if you get an Adjustable Wastegate.

Move slowly when adjusting and you'll hit the Spot...or measure per the instructions and you'll get the desired amount. Need a Ruler that Measures in MM to be acurate.
I have a FMIC now so I can turn boost up a tad more than 8lbs now.

An electronic boost controller, at least a good one, will help you build boost quicker than just running off of the WG.
