Just picked up a new CA18DET and in the process of replacing all the usual suspects..
And I pulled off my oil filter and noticed this thing.. I honestly have no idea what it is, but I'm sure someone here does. :]

looks like an aftermarket oil filter sandwich plate
you use that for oil pressure/temp gauges, or even an oil cooler if you want.
oil cooler ports if your talkin about to 2 holes

the holes look like they are 2 different sizes
maybe one is for the stock oil pressure sensor
and the other is for an aftermarket gauge
the holes are kinda small for an oil cooler

ya but with proper fitting or even drilling and tapping th top hole you could run a cooler.. the bottom hole looks like it has been tapped or has a thread coil spring in there.

ahh
you can run a cooler if and only if each hole is in line of the oil flow
if they are just added ports it wont flow through the cooler
just take it off and have a look at it
and take som pix of it off too and i'll help you figure it out
