I used to love that forum (not as much as this one though). I haven't browsed over there in over 3 months, so I just went to check it out. And while there are alot of helpful, great people there, it seems to have gone down the ****ter. No one can ask a question without half of the responses to be flames.
It's like ClubSI and some of the VW forums out there.
Anyone else notice this?

I noticed that about 6 months ago. I haven't been there since. It's gotten really bad. They've over-categorized every section and it sucks.

Eletiest pricks!
Best search function ever...but thats all I use FA for.
People over there know their **** but it's just no fun.
check out this FA thread (http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB9&Number=67245822&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1)
And most FAers don't like it over here because most members here don't know their **** and it's more just BSing.
There are a lot of ignorant people on zilvia and thats not meant to be an instult, many members are simply lacking in experience/maturity. If someone wants solid information on important subjects they go to freshalloy. Ive found that I cant really ask serious questions on this board and expect serious answers.

i agree. sometimes there are ocassions[sp?] that i Can ask serious question and get serious answers from people who KNOW their info, not people giving opinions, but thats only sometimes, but rest assure, there are other forums that are MUCH MUCH worse, i personally like this forum a lot i visit it about 30 times a day or something like dat, just going around and around again. but as for the informative side, there are some knowledable people like Jeff240sx, Boosteds14, PSI240SX, skychimp, tnord, 240racer, and some other people, and while we have those great people we also have people with basic knowledge of cars which dont help when you need big time serious answers. i go to FA when i need some hardcore answers and their search is the best ive seen. i also see you around there NZO. you go by the same name and same avatar, yes i notice lots of things:)

We're all working on that. Everybody here is more knowledgable than they were when I got here over a year ago. This "community" has come a long way. Please feel free to ask serious questions here, because there will always be somebody that can give you the right answer. If we don't know it, we can help you research it.

Yea. This forum isn't as cold and sterile as FA... where you go simply to get information. That's why I'm here... I'm not on as much as I used to be, cuz my car's dead and all... but anyway.
FA has a really good "Best of 240sx" and the search over there doesn't work much... so Zilvia it is.

I come here just to have "chat" and gets some laughes. I go to FA when I need serious answers. There search is the best and there "Favorite Thread" feature can help you keep the thread you like the most without having to go thru the search. FA is not THAT bad and trust me there are worst forums out there.........
As it seems everyone else, I go there for more "tech" info. I really like the folks here, a bit more easy going.
Plus, FA doesn't have Tnord around to slap around the newbies around.
This place is getting better all the time, keep it up.

hey! I don't post here often, so I just noticed this, but I used to live in Broken Arrow for over 10 years. Right on the border of Tulsa and Broken Arrow. By 71st and Garnett. That area has come a looooong way since I lived there. I remember when it was a bunch of praries. When we lived there, we had horses on the other side of our fence. I love Fuddrucker's. I live all the way in Nebraska now, and it sucks.

Ha ha - that thread is what I HATE about FA. It is great to know your stuff and great to share it in a public forum, but I don't really have that much interest in the thing. Not being a science guy, I'd go buy a faster car b/f I'd worry about VE of the motor. It isn't really something I'm going to tinker with.
Suspension, brakes, steering, tires, maintenance... I can get the basics here or in the other forums I frequent - without the technobable or the holier than thou responses. When I have a mechanical issue, I go to the FA search (a real goldmine and THE 240sx resource). I don't think I've ever had a question answered there otherwise. Unless its JDM, turbo, or drift - no one seems to care. I guess that's their bias. (I realize we have our cliques too, but I like ours ;) )

Heh... note that I recently changed my FA avatar to match the one I use here.
I like rubbing "KA24(E)" in as many faces as possible.
I actually love the tech and tend to read it quite a bit, but since so much of it applies to things I don't ask of my car, I rarely contribute, aside from the occasional shot of reality/alternate perspective... i.e. saying things that basically amount to "for all the non-drifters out there, don't listen to a damn thing these people are saying."
The one thing that irks me about FA is the seemingly endless amount of money some of these people have to put into their cars. Or maybe they're all BSing... I don't know.
