Ok so i wne to the "junkyard" today, and I found a 93 cluster , but the instrument harness had been cut instead of nicely pulled. So i looked around some more, found a 91 with the cluster still in. SO I pulled it, brought it home, and everything lights up, and the temp/feul work, but the tach and the speedo are dead.... could this be from the harness being different? if i find another (93 vs. the 91) harness will that work, or should i try and switch for the 93 cluster, and keep looking for the 93 instrument wiring harness?
just trrying to trouble shoot...
thanks for the help, people!!

everything should work, maybe there is a problem with the console you got. The wiring isn't different. Maybe there is a AT, MT thing going on, did all these cars have the same transmission. I don't know how they do the speed signal on the AT, but I assume it's a little different. I'm running a '91 tach (from a analog cluster) in a '89 digitial console with the stock wiring harness and have no problems. Everybody with the '89 or '90 has been able to do that, so it's not a big deal. Check connections, I'll send you a PM too.

Make sure you plugged them in where they're supposed to be. IIRC, they're the same size connectors, and look the same too.

the only difference between the auto speed sensors and the manual speed sensors on 89-93 is at the trans itself and the actual speed sensor itself. The wiring is the same at the guage cluster i.e. there is no cluster differences.
