View Full Version : A/C Issue: Cold at Idle, Warm when driving.

I had my a/c recharged and had a new compressor installed recently. System was pressure tested and there are no signs of a leak. When the car is sitting at idle the a/c blows cold, but then when driving it just blows warm air. I know the line from the condenser to the accumulator <--- spell check, has a few kinks in it from when the car was hit up front.
I have a feeling that kinked line maybe causing the system to stop flowing once the compressure starts to spin faster while driving. What do you guys think?
Anyone have that steel line from the condenser to accumulator that you want to sell?

I would DEFINITELY recommend replacing that kinked line. My question is, with the price of a recharge being non-trivial, why in the world would you risk having to do it again after you replace that line?

The line isn't steel.
Replace it.

also check the ambient tempature sensor on the front i think its located at. A busted one can screw with ur ac system.

lol... I know its not steel. Its probably aluminum but I was typing fast and typed first thing that came to mind.
Well the shop I took it to was supposed to get the a/c working properly but then I was told that line needed to be replaced AFTER I had gone to pick up the car. I was pretty pissed. Why not tell me that it needs to be replaced BEFORE I go to pick up the car. The shop put the car back together knowing the line was kinked. Then, dude tells me to wait until I decide to replace my leaking Koyo radiator before I take it back, that way he can do the line at the same time. Im not gonna say which shop since they are well known in the 240 scene.
Ok, I'll replace the line and check the ambient temp sensor. Thanks for the input.
