Are all the bolts as tight as they should be? Try to check every bolt and connection you had to mess with to replace the t/c rods and see if maybe something isn't torqued right. It's an odd coincidence that this started soon after doing the work.

Good luck!

I am experiencing the same problem. Ive been dealing with it for about a year now. When I got it inspected last year, the shop that inspected it told me I had a bent strut, so I attributed the clunking to this. Well i just recently replaced my stock suspension with aftermarket, and the clunk is still there. I cant tell if its coming from the actual brakes, or if its a sound resulting from the front end dropping down under braking. The sound is most prevalent at lower speeds, but can still be heard when braking from highway speeds. Its as soon as I touch the brake, the car's front end drops, and i hear "clunk." It brakes normally, handles normally, and doesnt pull to either side. Also, when it was inspected a year ago, I had the tension rods replaced with Megan rods.

you sure you tightened your lugs enough?

what kind of TC rods?

the new TC rods could be manifesting another issue. maybe your lower control arm bushing turned into baby poo.

Like I said, this is a problem ive been experiencing for over a year. The wheels have come off and been put on many times over that year... Id definitely notice loose lug nuts. Everything else seems to be tight- ive done brake pads in that year, and everything is tight. I've gone under the car with that side in the air, and grabbed and shaken every part relating to the front suspension and brakes, looking for a loose part. Nothing budges.

Skipped right over this part, sorry. How do I check the LCA bushing?

If hasn't been replaced already its probably toast. Energy Suspension makes a poly replacement, or you can get nismos if you would rather have rubber. FRSport has completely new arms for something like 120+shipping, which is a steal considering you get new ball joints as well.

Front clunk normally comes from loose coilovers, loose brake caliper, loose tension rod, loose tension rod brace.

Check those first. Could also be your ball joint/lower control arm.

Had a shop throw it onto a lift, they said i need new tension rods and tie rod ends.

That should explain my clunk, no?

Im being quoted $525 for tension rods and tie rod ends installed. Sportline t/r's and ingalls tie rod ends. Sound like a fair price? I may do it myself though, if i can find time.

I got totally confused because this thread got hijacked......lol.

Did you have this clunk before you replaced the TC rods? Make sure you've tightened down the bolts for the TC rods.

Try using a pry bar instead of shaking.

You just had the tension rods replaced? You need to replace them again? I take it the Megan's took a shit on you already. And honestly, you can install all that shit for nothing and have that shop do the front alignment for you. $525 for that and you didn't even mention an alignment, is quite frankly a rip off.
