After about a 12 pack and three CDs that i went through, the sparco seats are finally in the car. I bought the evos. pretty nice racing seat that is very comfortable. well i wanted the complete package of brackets and rails to install with. so i went to Wedge Enginerring in which they custom make a base bracket for the 240s. I also picked up the seat rails and the side mounts.
THEY DONT FIT. the seat hit the roof of the car, and the rails dont slide. so after busting ballz at sparco and wedge, i took out the old welder and made my own attempt at it. i kept the wedge made base and welded the side mount brackets to them. the seat still sits about an inch to two higher than stock, but it is do-able. the only thing is that now there are no rails and i have a set position for the fron seats.
what a hassle it has been. nothing but headaches and all i have to say after this, is that they look OK. not great or awesome, but just OKAY. i will have pics up shortly in this thread and on my website.

uiuc240- is seat rails being used in that pic?
because the evo's sides are not parallel and the rail wont work because it forms a kinda of a V-shape.

I saw a 96 240 with Evo2's at a track event, the fit nicely. He had custom mounts made though... I hear it's the only way to get them in the car the way you want, b/c nobody makes a set of rails for the 240 that are worth a damn and work with NO modification on Sparco seats.

I have the SPARCO Speed seat in my 89 hatch and I had no problems w/the install. BUT, I used all SPARCO rails and mounts. It took about a month of extra wait and an extra 50-100 bucks but after I had everything it was pretty easy. I will say that it did raise the seat about and inch or so up but I got used to it quick. If you'd like to contact the shop I bought it at to make sure of the Mount/Rail brand, it was EVOLUTION Auto Performance in Chicago but you can call either of their shops...they have a web site under construction...EVOAP.COM but I think their #'s are on there too. You're best bet is to talk to "BEN" and ask him which rails/mounts he got for "Eddy"<----me.:D
I'll have pics of my whole seat setup on my signature link soon. maybe it'll help.

well, justin a.k.a. jdm-er, the guy i was talking about in a different post (the guy that thinking of selling his 240) went to some interior shop to get his put in. the guys fabricated their on brakets... and they told justin it was hard as balls to get the torinos to sit right, but they did a great job. Justin only paid like $350 for the brakets, and getting his rear seat re-holpstered (<-however you spell it). so it wasn't that expensive, but for somebody who just bought sparcos, it might be... haha. well, i hope you like your seats. btw, i'l' get picks of justin's seats and his car for that matter.

I don't know what he's using :( Sorry. Did you already contact him?

He's in the midst of doing some CRAZY shizzle to his S14 (ask nicely and he may tell you). Anywho, that's all I know. Oh, and I know that I fit in his S14 with those seats (Evo2) and I'm 6'2"...so the seat obviously wasn't that tall.
