ive searched the forum already, and all that came up was the s13.4 build
thread. i pm'd him how he did it, but still no response. he dye'd his gray carpet, to black, and the results looked good (from the pics)
I almost forgot to take pics of the carpet before so heres one, half way through my first coat of black.

The finished carpet reinstalled in the car.

After the carpet was reinstalled the rear interior was put back in and rear seats bolted in.

i got a quote for new carpet and they said $300-$500.
and the dye is $25-$75.
New carpet
Cons- kinda pricey
Good- fresh, no stains, can last for another 10+ years
Carpet dye
cons- old, tuff stain hardenings, lil tears
good-looks new, cheap.
idk if anyone has considered doing this or has done this, but lmk your results. im
planning to change or dye my s14 carpet.

Turns out pretty good. Sometimes if you use to much dye the carpet gets a little crusty, but overall it's great for the price.
If you don't want to deal with the whole process you can search for 89/90 Black carpets. Just need to be patient in finding one in good condition.

You can use the vinyl and fabric spray from Auto Zone and when you spray it on rub it in with your hand (put latex glove on first) to keep it more even and keep it from getting crusty. But there is another alternative. S14 carpet fits in s13's ( in coupes at least, I put s14 carpet in mine) if you've converted to manual seatbelts. The only thing that fits a little off is the rear floor, but it looks alot better than the empty humps from removing the lap belt.

does anyone know any other dyes i can get my hands on? i've found RIT dye, and Dupli-Color spray for carpets but neither have had good reviews. i'd like to try the Car Brite brand that was used in the picture above. i've called many places and got a number but neither have really worked, i'll try again tmrw. but in the meantime, any more ideas?

Search on here for SEM. They make a ton of automotive finishing products, including vinyl/carpet and leather dyes. Super high quality stuff. I'll be doing my own carpet in a few weeks.

+1 for SEM.. Check out their website too. I did some auto interior refurbishing a while back, and they have how-to sheets (with pictures :D) for all your refinishing needs...
