i dont know what do to.

after the whole ebay manifold incedent,

i decided that i was going to get another top mound, but this time i was going to do some research and spend allitle more money on it. so i came across this..

ICHIBA Stainless Steel Turbo Manifold Top Mount 240SX SR20DET S13 S14 (http://www.ichibausa.com/icststtumato.html)

its a ichiba top mount manifold for a sr20

when i got it i noticed that the turbo flange sat alittle different that the manifold i had on it. but i said to myself "no biggie.. at most ill have to make a new down pipe and maybe the intercooler piping but what ever"

but when i pit it on i noticed that the turbo back housing sat REALLY close to the head/block. so close that i dont think ill be able to bolt on a down pipe at all!! not only that but the pcv/oil catch can hose wont even clear it!!! WHAT DO I DO?!?! i dont wanna cut and weld it cuz it might void the warenty and plus i payed almost 400$ WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO!!!!!!!:bash::bash::bash:

now i left 3 messages with the phone but i think its disconected.... i emailed him also and still nothing.. i see that he's a seller on zilvia and hope he see's this so we can get this problem fixxed. if thier are more things i need to get for this manifold to work let me know.:aw::aw::aw: I NEED MY CAR RUNNING FRIDAY!!!!!

what do u guys thing? could it be for a s14 sr20 and thats why its not working?? has anyone else tryed this manifold?? any problems with it?? does anyone know how i can contact ichiba, or know someone thier who works their???? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

Call one of there dealers and talk to them about what kind of warranty they have.

No, it's because it's a cheap chinese piece of garbage manifold, and it was probably designed on a RHD car. If you want top mount on the cheap (that will fit), get a log fabbed up or buy a Treadstone (cast iron)

or since you already have the chinese shit, just get it modified. not like you will ever be able to get in touch with them for them to uphold the "warranty" anyway

Did you buy this from a dealer or from Ichiba directly?

well you have good BMC clearance.

Apparently Treadstone is just the opposite... too close to the BMC. I'm gonna go with Treadstone over the winter cuz I'm RHD!

Don't give up until you get your money back!

Wtf does RHD have to do with the turbo hitting the block?

r u for real??? i dont understand?? that looks awsome.... do u think it can be my turbo housing?:confused:

oh btw i posted the wrong pic this is the pic of the manifold and the down pipe together.. notice how it sits so close to the head that i have no way of getting the furthest bolt on.. or am i just going ape shits?
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb20/dominicanzero1/photo-5.jpg

my other option is to heat and twist slightly... i mean it only has to clear about a 1 inch or so.....

its not a "wacky" exhaust housing...its typical.

That tee fitting on the valve cover are just pressed in. you can take it out very simple (what you plug it up with is your idea/problem)

Just run a screwdriver through the tee and push down on one side, it'll break free and then you just wiggle it out.

Is that a 5 bolt exhaust housing on the turbonetics turbo in those pics? In the other two pictures they are running 4 bolt exhaust housings and there is a difference in size between a 5 bolt housing to a 4 bolt housing. That may be one of the reasons you are having fitment problems.

didnt really realize he said block/head, im not 100% sober, sue me :fawkd:

lol. i was just thinking about my experience with cheap chinese manifolds and they actually put my turbine housing literally ON my bmc... treadstone was close but better than the others

A number of manifolds only work with one type of turbine housing.

...e.g...the RevHard manifold for the KA. Similar situation as yours.

Sucks you didn't know earlier, but now you do - Swap to a turbo with a 4-bolt turbine, and you'll be set.

That's exactly what teh problem is. Ford 5-bolt style is HUGE compared to 4-bolt/v-band.

Yup, that's the one. One of Japan's "Megan"-type companies.
