well here it is...again. i was washing the car today, 91 240 hatch, and noticed some rust under the spoiler. so i decided to take it off and use some rust treatment crap i have. well i took the ol spoiler off and what do i see? a big-ass hole sitting right under it, i could put a golf ball through with no problems. so i was wondering, besides finding a new hatch for the car if theres anything you guys would suggest, or know that will patct it up. bondo, rubber cement, something along those terms. thanks in advance.

whatever you do, dont use bondo! Bondo expands from heat differently from metal, eventually separating and letting water in, rusting whatever it's on more than before. There's a reason it has a bad rep. I would suggest sanding the rust out, and laying fiberglass sheets to try to fix it. I'm no expert on body repair by any means, but I think that's what you're supposed to do. Then mask off the area around it and spray it whatever color. You might want to consult an auto body shop, though.

bondo... i used bondo.most of it's still holding, but one of the holes cracked. it expands, it falls apart. i got a quote to have it repaired- 100 bucks to have it welded back together and primered.
