you need to do the following.
1) Make sure you know that motor is good and solid, why are you going to buy a motor for $1200 from canada and install it and then motor pops and you're

$1200 - questionable. unless you bought it your self in japan for that ammount

market price unstalled a good motor is $1900 - $2500 some people charge

complete straight ligit SR20 that will last you some time is really based on engine bench test. Motors removed from the car and put on a table and oil pressuer is checked and water temp is checked. You might be able to get something with good compression but sometimes and very rarely oil pressure might be bad and still show good compression. Another no no is buying modified motors, most likely have been trashed and abused. try to pick up a stock and un modifed motor............
