What does an oil catch can do?

all engines create pressure in crankcase, mod'd engines even more, and will spit oil and oil fumes out anywhere it can. if u have a valve cover breather that may be the easiest place to exit. you cant stop it, so you put a tube on the breather fitting and run it DOWN (gravity) to a &quot;catch can&quot; of some sort.....lots of racers use old brake fluid cans etc. you empty it when it fills up!

Or you can spend your $ and get a nice one. I have the Greddy one, but I never got a chance to install it.

where do u mount it to?
would u also have to keep filling your engine oil up?

inner fender, firewall, next to radiator.....and just cuz u put one on doesnt mean its gonna fill up. u usually put a catch can on if u need it. if you buy one like Marks they look great, but its not always necessary. Marks turbo'd car might need one cuz crankcase pressures can sometimes rise for various reasons when turbo'ing a car.

On a turbo car, it is strongly recommended otherwise all that oil will end up in your intercooler and therefore affect it's cooling.I've seen people running really high boost also bypass the PCV valve.
