So what do you guys think? I called Blitz and they are clueless to what it could be. Alittle background on the system.

CS polly hangers
3" down pipe
3" test pipe
80mm Nur Spec R catback
(the resonator was cut out and removed b/c I kept dragging it across the ground. I got my hands on another 80mm blitz system and removed a straight section long enough to replace the resonator.)

The rattle has been in the system since before the resonator was removed. The hopes were that removing the resonator would fix the leak and rattle together, apparently it only fixed the leak.

Have you checked the heat shields?

Also may sound like one or a baffle has come loose in the muffler ?? check that and also check the heat shields like undesiredshoe said !!
You may also want to try using a rubber hammer and tap on the exhaust with the car off and see if you can isolate the rattle !!! Good luck !!

all are removed except the one around the gas tank. You have to drop the sub frame to remove it.

Has anyone had any experience with that particular shield rattling?

I actually called Blitz NA about it to discuss the construction of the NUR Spec with hopes of locating the baffles before I cut my can apart. they claim there are not any internal baffles and that the canister only houses the packing material.

I might just cut that piece open and see for myself, this noise is horrible!!!!

Get under the car and shake all parts of the exhaust as hard as you can. If it moves, you need more hangers/better placement. You should be able to reproduce the sound.

It's very unlikely that it's the muffler baffles, because as they said, there usually aren't traditional baffles (just mesh and packing).

yeah on top of having polly hangers I've also got nismo motor/tranny mounts so I couldn't imagine anything moving much. I've felt the system while I was doing the welding and you can just about kick the tip and have no movement.

I'm going to grab a dead blow when I get home and knock on the canister a bit.

it is prob the two bolts that hold the rear hangers to the frame.

drop the canister and tighten up the two bolts that hangers are held on to the chassis.
