Howdy,
First of all allow me to introduce myself, I know nothing about 240's *bows*. Now that I got that out of the way, I figured why not make my first thread a build thread, so here I am.
I recently purchased this 1990 Auto Coupe from a junk yard. It had 105k miles, clean title, and was drivable. I figured I'd just drive it around as my daily seeing as how it gets decent gas mileage, and since it was ugly as Rosie O'Donnell, I wouldn't care if anything happened to it.
Things quickly changed when I was introduced to the 'large cult following' these cars had because of their RWD platform. I thought surely I cant be driving around in a 240 coupe and not do nothing about it, so I suppose I'd get started doing something.
First things first, I purchased the Sylvia front end with projector headlights. And here she is, the beauty in all her SOHC glory, looking like shes ready to go mudding with her spray paint and 4x4 stance. I must say I am happy with the front end. But shes going to need A lot of work as you can see.

First things first, I wanted to address the holes in the trunk that were left when the OEM wing was removed. So I removed the trunk lid and brought it over to my neighbor to start the shaving process.
Heres the holes after the trunk lid was sanded down

Next step was to weld shut the holes and grind them down flush (got to give credit to my neighbor for the welding and grinding):

Next my neighbor layed down the bondo and taught me how to spray down primer.

And heres the finished result!

Next update will be this weekend. I will be sanding down the rest of the car and decking it, getting her ready for paint. Already purchased my compressor and spray gun and chosen my paint color. Feel free to follow my progress. I will soon be adding suspension goodies and looking for a 5 speed conversion.
