Hi,
I'm in the chicago area and i'll tell you, it's tough to find anything on the 240 here w/o special order. I can recommend Evolution Auto Performance. BUT you'd have to go the the chicago store on touhy in between california and western. AND you'd have to go on a Friday or Saturday and ask for ben. Feel free to get in touch w/me if you'd like to see the other shops around here.

there is not much on 240s out in chicago, plus its gonna be cold and snowing prolly, most people around here work on the cars themselves, there still has yet to be someone who has gotten an SR swap done by a shop yet.
Mt. Prospect is a suburb, not much out there, you are better off just site seeing in chicago, although everything looks ugly this time of year:(

Hey, I'm in chi town too. I can't recomend any good 240 shops, but I can recomend an excellent race shop.
It's a bit in the middle of no where but worth a visit (I got my helmet, harness, pedals, and driving gloves there). Northstar Motorsports. They actually focus on Porsche racing but have many general racing parts and accesories. Keep in mind this stuff is the real deal (I think mentioning APC would get you thrown out of the store if they even know what it means) so it's not cheap.

There's a place out in Skokie called "Drivers Image" they do pretty much everything, they seem ricy but in all reality are not. URL is [ulr]www.driversimage.com[/url], and then there's a shop out in Arlington Heights (Skokie is closer to Mt. Prospect) called Garage Kwai. They also do some 240 stuff... They dont' have a website though. I'd go to Driver's Image. There's a sick-looking 240 out there with an S15 front and a bunch of other crap that was done by them.

You can suggest our ever so favorite portillos:D , go buy some pizza while your down town.
There are plenty of clubs downtown if you are into that stuff (I'm not so I can't give you any names), go to ESPN zone if you like games and bars and such, its pretty fun. If you came a month later, you could go to the Autoshow.
There is also this place called Jeff's Red Hots by 6 corners (it's exactly what it is, 3 of the major streets meet and make 6 corners), it's got good food, but it's just your regular old hot dog joint.
Funny thing , I have never been to the John Hancock building, every time I have visiters we go to Sears Tower, and its not that special, especially this time of year when it's all foggy, you won't see a thing.
Also I have heard Water Tower Place has some good food, just really really expensive. And also heard Blue Man group is fun but I forget where its at, just go to thier site.
Thats all I can think of now.

As cool as it would be to go to the skydeck of the hancock tower, my friends and I just went to the bar on the next to top floor for free and ordered one drink that was about equal to the cost of going to the top. I thought it was a fun way to kill time and watch the sunset. Unfair for us guys though, the gir;s bathroom actually has a big picture window. The guys get a ceiling vent.
For food, I can't say that I'm too cultured on the truly local stuff. I will say that for pan aisan food, I'm addicted to Big Bowl and their hibiscus tea and potstickers.

Still "240 Dreaming"?
lol I was in Zimbabwe, saw more skylines then civics, which is very very very very odd. And I only saw 3 skylines, but saw one civic, but they call em ballades. Nissan has some funny names for cars (sunnys, laurels, glorias)
And yes I am still 240 dreaming, I am trying to buy a car before the autocross learning curve session thing, which I think is in march, but the car won't be driven much. So I need to start saving for whatever big thing I do next winter (most likely CA, but I'll prolly change decisions again)
This place changed so much
