I need some help with this translation. I got this ecu and the car runs like shit. can someone please translate this for me?

open it up and see if it has a daughterboard.

if you want to bypass move the jumper so that it runs on the stock ecu and not the daughterboard.

it does have a daughter board but i dont know if there is a jumper or not for it. i will get a picture tomorrow and look again.

does the daughter board make the ECU imaginary?

when you move the SMD jumper the ecu will read off of the stock ecu instead of the daughter board.

The first line after the redded box says

"normal switch (you can switch between rom tune and normal tune)"

The line after the box is for boards that can switch between two types of data. Not exactly sure of the meaning but I'd assume two different rom tunes.

My japanese isn't very good so I hope that helps.. otherwise I'm going to have to break out the dictionary to translate the block of kanji after.

cool, you can switch back to the stock map on the ecu.

i am guessing that the second part means for multiple map switching on chips that can hold multiple maps.

Yeah that's what it seems like. Probably something like a low and high octane map.

its not like the prev owner had mods that were then stripped off and sold by the importer.

Thanks for the input. The switch thing makes sense. There is a toggle switch hanging outside of the ecu. The wires come from where the red light is. Lets hope it works. I just got all my maf problems sorted out.

Easy way to go to the stock maps is move the jumper/resistor that's got to be on CJ2 back to the stock location of CJ1. It's on the back of the ECU, not too far from the 2x20 pin header the daughterboard plugs into.

Heres a rough translation

Top Red dot says "ROM Tune and Normal ROM" can change switch

White Dot Says This button is two position switch

(Caution) 1 When ECU is conncted
If you open this computer cover, switch turns on 5V goes through ROM and will go back through ROM and Damage it
This ECU case will maybe short circuit if open while connected.

if this computer gaurrenty seal is torn or opened for any reason we will not repair under gaurentee

(So basically dont Open when connceted to Wire harness)

(Caution) 2 always turn off engine and wait 30 seconds and then change switch. sometimes (Rarely) after 3-5 mins of running engine data will not change.


Below sticker says "KSROM Normal"

They dont give a speciffic on what type of ROM tune though
