on 240 hatchbacks, did it ever come in power sunroofs/moonroofs or was it just manual roofs. and what is the difference between sunroof and moonroof if there is any.

Isn't the difference between a moonroof and a sunroof just a matter of if the roof slides open or not? I.E. if you can only pop it up then it is a sunroof, but if you can slide it backwards, then it is a moonroof or vice versa?

Moonroofs are glass so that on a cold night you can still see the moon outside.

Anyone know if there is a sliding option?

Taking out the roof is such a pain...

Sliding doesn't really work for the hatch...the roof is too small to allow for it to slide. So either you end up with a really small window, or it can't open all the way. The coupes slide. And they're not noisy on the highway. Maybe you should just sell your FB and get a coupe ;)

No sliding roofs on the hatch, no room. Get over it.

wow. That car is superlame. But yeah, it *does* have a sliding roof. Notice how it slides on the OUTSIDE though? I thought the original question was if one could be put in like the coupes have. The one that dude has on is an aftermarket external model...you can get those just about anywhere.

I have seen only one stock power sliding moonroof on a hatchback. A co-worker of mine has it. I'll get pictures up as soon as i can. his car is an 89 240 hatch, w/all power options...from locks to rear wiper to moonroof. I think it might be as rare as finding a 240 w/HICAS for sale. :D

The difference between moonroof and sunroof depends upon manufacturer. Most Japanese car makers use the sliding moonroof and the pop-up sunroof. But, to most others the names are interchangeable. Even in product brochures the names tend to swap around.

I was under the understanding that Power Moonroofs were NEVER offered as an option on a 240. I have a feeling its an aftermarket job.

You are correct. I finally took a look inside his car and discovered a very good CUSTOM job. Very clean, no gaps in anything...it looks like it could have been stock. Must be losing my eye in my old age:D
