This morning, I had some trouble starting my car. Took a good 5+ tries just to get it started. It was a fairly cold morning. After I got the car started at to work, I turned the car off, and it started fine, no problems. This happened a while back aswell, maybe 3 or so weeks ago. The car cranks fine but doesn't start(starter and batt are both new). I've since replaced the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, but the problem arose again this morning.
Btw, this is on a stock KA24DE
Any ideas?

sometimes my car starts up on one click, sometimes it turns over 5 times before it starts, sometimes my starter doesn't even engage.. one of the perks of a car that is two decades old

I'd rather not rely on luck to get to work in the mornings lol. There has to be some sort of explanation for not starting, something about to break maybe? hah

Is the CTS hard to change? It could also explain why it seems like my engine temp is gonig nuts on certain days.

i have a new cts, almost new everything on my 200k miles ka
im guessing the soleniod is starting to fail.
when i swapped it in from a car that had a monkey wire an sr, i had to source an engine bay harness, wired everything up from the super conjuction to the ecu, then to my horror it didnt want to start! the ecu threw a cts code, plugged it in, then it ran great. off-topic, i know but yea.
cts is a sensor on the intake manifold near the upper radiator hose. its an easy install, just dont forget to bleed your cooling system.

Nah, its in front of the Thermostat there are two plugs
Skinny Single wire is for the Gauge
Fat Two wire plug is for the ECU <-- you wanna change that one for hard starts

Thanks for the help guys, +rep all around. My CEL is on too, I need to pull the code off it, I just assumed it was because I was running an auto ecu or something.
CTS an autozone/kragen OK part? I know some stuff are better off going OEM.

for now, anything is better than your 13 year old sensor

I pulled the code, haven't replaced the CTS yet, but the code came back as a 32
EGR System 32 EC-117
Should I still change the CTS for my starting problems? Would something with the EGR periodically prevent my car from starting?

I'm just wondering, what does the CTS have to do with starting the car? How is it related?

iirc the cts helps the ecu determine how much fuel to send to send based on the temp of the coolant. ie if the cts is cold the it will send a signal to the ecu to add more fuel.
I had a problems with a slugish start, but when i changed to a new oem cts then i had no problems with start up.
also you should get an oem cts
worth every penny

Check your start signal fuse, I had taken mine out when I installed my radio (because I needed a 10 amp haha) and I had the same symptoms, car was HARD to start cold, but once it was warmed up it would start no problem

Oh, just noticed you said it wont start anymore.

I had to get to work, so I got a ride, it was still cold though. I'll try again when it's warmer and I'm back home.

I had my dad try to start the car in the middle of the day when it was nice and warm and the car started no problem.
When I got home, the car started no problem.
I picked up a new CTS from nissan anyways and replaced my old one, I'll give an update tomorrow, when I try to start it in the morning cold. Any other ideas on what else it could be if this doesn't solve the problem?
