I replaced my sr hg with an apex 1.1mm one and reinstalled everything correctly. I also pulled to intake manifold apart and the fuel lines off just to clean the dirt and crap off everything. I installed everything right or im pretty sure. This is where I have a problem. I go to start my car and nothing. I have a fuel pump cutoff so i crank it over with it off an smell gas and after like 15 seconds my car starts to fire up but wont unless I turn the pump on at exactly the right time. So I turn the pump off and crank it and my car will start for 5-10seconds when then pump is shut off. I can start it for like 5 seconds then it shuts of but I can keep doing this for awhile and dont understand how its getting fuel. A short? But all I did was install a hg, is there any wiring to do with the fuel pump near the manifold that could hav gotten screwed up during this?? Please and thanks for responses.

Weird...possibly your fuel lines are reversed? I'm not sure it sounds like it has something to do with your cutoff switch. Take that out of the loop and see if it helps. Even if that isn't the issue, I would still keep it off for now troubleshooting will be easier the closer to stock your setup is, add the other stuff back on later.

^i agree take the switch out of the picture and check from there...leaky injector maybe? pull your spark plugs out and smell them for gas to see if your motor is flooded..if so disconnect fuel and spark and do short cranks, like 10 sec or so, for a few times to get all the fumes and fuel out...back to the switch it might have been completing the fuel pump circuit all the time and energized the fuel pump making the pump just dump fuel.

Your car sounds like it's an FC in disguise. Haha. Just kidding.

Yea I forgot to mention that i took the switch out and it doesnt start unless the pump is shut off and then gets turned back on. I did take off the throttle position sensor but I was pretty sure I put it back on right, I mean there were marks that were clean under were the bolts that hold it down are but maybe it is off? I mean it seems logical that if the position is saying the throttle is open a little more than it is it would provide more gas right?

What your saying about the TPS could be true, it is one of the primary points of information for the ECU.

Is there anything else you took off/changed during the maintenance?
