View Full Version : Good pedal setup for fitment and heel/toe...

I'm thinking about getting some aftermarket pedal covers for my S14. The oem accelerator pedal is so small and the offset between the brake pedal and accelerator suck with trying to heel/toe. Sure you can do it but it's still hard with size 9 shoes (ok no smart remarks)... Hell my Honda Fit has better heel/toe setup then my S14 from the factory. Anyway it's killing me at the track and solo events and it's slowing me down.
Are there any proven setups that you guys recommend that solve all the above issues?
Thanks guys.

my size 12 sucks too.
I got sparco covers and put em on all crocked and shit to PERFECT my peddle set up..
My brake pedal bottom angles towards my gas pedal which is also angled toward brake.
kinda looks like if you put your feet str8 and angled em in towards each other so big toes are close... just woke up bad example?
dang gl.
also ..I am to big to heel toe, so i can it big toe , lil toe.. lil toe is gas big toe is brake...

I also have Razo pedals.
Mine have adjustable flaps on the brake and accelerator pedals where you can basically eliminate the entire gap between the 2 pedals if you wanted.

Another feature with some of the Razo pedals, is that it is also height adjustable, so its easier to "blip" the throttle when you are on the brake....

I wear 9.5 size shoes. No problems here with stock pedals. I love where the pedals are located.

I can heel toe better when I'm bare foot, but I'm not shabby with shoes on either.
I'm either a size 9 or 10, sometimes size 11, depending on what shoe they are.

I dont know man, I wear a size 14 and heeltoe fine in my S13. I like to put the center of my foot on the brake though and my heel for the gas.

i've never known so many people with tiny ass feet. S chassis pedal placement is perfect IMO.

i have RICER status for pedals... friend gave them to me a few years ago, APC pepboys pedalset... not that pretty, kinda ricey, but i was more comfortable with these things, the accelerator gets closer to the brake and makes it more easier to place your foot on the pedals during heel-toe, size 8.5-9 shoes and stock pedals didnt have any problems either, just these things help a bit... been wishing to find something similar but nicer looking...

I just made my own ginormous brake pedal out of 1/4" or 1/8" (can't remember anymore) aluminum plate. I also made a clutch pedal out of the same stuff just to keep the distance from me to the clutch pedal proportionally the same as the one from me to the brake pedal. I covered them both with skateboard grip-tape. I think it looks and works better than any gheytastic pedal kit and it only took a couple hours to make.

agree..
u don't have to stomp on the gas pedal as far as u can during a heal toe.. just a tap. during braking ur pedal should be depressed more then enough.... u know wat would help, if u don't already have 1. lighter flywheel. id find a better investment meanwhile learning how to do it with oem pedals. doesn't the brake pedal have some adjustment like the clutch pedal to the MC?

make sure you get ones that are attached via bolts/screws rather than just clip on ones
sparcos are cheap and work

I use perforated grip tape on the metal pedal assemblies. I still have the plastic part of the gas medal on though.

I've had that problem (usually size 12 or 13) with some dress shoes, or sandals with long toes.
I bent the stock gas pedal using a hammer and a curb to fit just how I like it. Now when I'm on the brakes (usually about 50% of the travel down), I can blip the throttle with no problems (and the throttle stays where I need it for full throttle/etc). Stock pedals are fine.

I have the RAZO aluminum pedals. I like the way the last owner has them installed (I sold out and bought a car with some stuff done to it already). I've driven cars with different pedals and like the RAZO's the best.

I can rev match in my civic with steel toe boots(man size), channel your inner Imamura and do it.

good idea, did you have to adjust the throttle cable?

lol thats wonderful
but on a serious note
the stock jdm accelerator pedal mounts closer than the u.s. one
thats what i have and i love it
but with big skate shoes its a bit of a nuisance
sometimes under hard braking i dont get my foot on the brake pedal all the way and the side of my foot pushes in the gas pedal
but with my puma's on its great
