had experience removing a dohc ka and just putting in another ka but this one is different. im planning to take the sr out of my s14 and drop it in my s13. and put another dohc ka into my s14.

i have an s13 sr in my s14. i kno the dohc ka will fit into the s14 but heres my questions....

questions involving my sr getting replace with a dohc ka:

1) does it matter if the ka trans is a s13 or s14 if im going to put a ka back into my s14 which is sr'd right now?

2)to remove the sr out of my s14 i need the ecu and whatever harness that goes to thru the firewall to engine and trans?

3) if im going to put a s13 motor and trans into my s14 i need the wire harness from the s13, it cant be the s14 one?

questions involving sr going into my s13:

1)all i need to take out is the ecu and wire harness that goes thru the fire wall to the trans and motor from my s14?

2) since sr was in my s14 will i need a different drive shaft to put in my s13?

i may have more questions later but this is it for now. pls help me out thanks!

no

yes (duh)

An s-13 KA needs the s-13 harness. The problem is that the s-13 KA harness will not plug into the s-14 body harness. You will need to do pretty much the same wiring that it took to put the s-13 SR in it.

Yes, but you will need to re-wire the SR to plug into the s-13 body harness.

Once again, no. Put the exact same driveshaft that you removed from the s-13 to take the KA out right back into it with the SR and vice versa.

You don't seem to realize that both motors will have to be re-wired to fit the other car. That's going to be a LOT of work!

Thanks for all the answers. I already knew it was going to be a lot of work. I knew it wasn't gona be a plug and play type of deal. Just trying to get info on what will and won't work.
