Early Build 240s

My 240 was built in august of 1988 i was wondering how many others out there got early 240s. Does anyone know how to tell the prooduction number?

There are lots of cars like that. My 1996 was built in 1995. Just like the 2009 Skylines were built in 2008.

I'm not sure how to tell what the production numbers are, unless it's a Saleen Mustang :bigok:

yea I hear that, I got a 95 built in 94, I beleive it says on the vehicle tag on the door.

most cars were built the year before, unless you ordered from the dealer

i thought it's something closer to 50/50 for previous year/model year

my car is an august 88 s13 as well. vin is like 000800 or something in the 800's.

thats how all cars are labeled, always been that way. For example they are building 2009 camaros right now in 2008 and labled as 2009

For all you lucky guys that got the 88's, your sohc engine could be running a 9.1:1 CR, from what I hear, the early KA24E's had a 9.1:1 CR pushing out 150hp and 152lb's torque.

i know that car makers release cars before the model year. I really wanna know what number my 240 is.

my s13 was built march 89 and is still an 89 model on the pinkslip.

When my mom bought her S13, it was built in 88 also, she got it brand new. However its wreck now :(

I heard that the KA did have higher comp. but even better i heard that the front subframe is stronger, thicker gauge steel than that of later models because nissan used the exact same one from silvias but later on changed them because USDM cars with KAs didnt need the extra strength and saftey laws are diff. I dunno how true that is though i never researched it.
